Every time I saw a picture of Silk Oat Yeah Oatmilk, I thought of the Kool-Aid man busting through a wall, shouting “Oh Yeah!” Apparently, the people at Silk also realized the odd correlation to those sugar packets, because they’ve dropped the overly enthusiastic name. It’s now simply called Silk Oatmilk, and it’s now available in four versatile varieties.
Silk Oatmilk Gives Us Something New to Shout About
According to Silk, you can feel good about enjoying their oatmilk for sustainability, too. It reportedly has a smaller footprint than most other types of milk alternatives, which have a baby footprint compared to dairy milk. But how does it taste? You can leave your own rating and review below!
Original (formula updated October 2020)
The subtle flavor of this simple oatmilk might make the transition easy for dairy-free newbies. It’s fairly neutral in taste, and is free of added sugars. The 4 grams of sugar in each serving is from the oats themselves.
Ingredients: oatmilk (filtered water, oat concentrate), sunflower oil, vitamin and mineral blend (calcium carbonate, vitamin a palmitate, vitamin d2, riboflavin [b2], vitamin b12), dipotassium phosphate, sea salt, gellan gum, ascorbic acid (to protect freshness). Produced on equipment shared with dairy and soy; see their website for details on their food allergen processes.*
Nutrition (per 1 cup serving): 90 calories, 3.5g fat, 13g carbs, 0g fiber, 5g sugars (including 5g added sugar), 1g protein. Fortified with 35% calcium, 20% vitamin D, 25% vitamin A, 25% riboflavin, and 100% vitamin B12 of the RDA.*
0g Sugar
Oats naturally convert to sugars during the enzymatic process of making creamier oatmilk. But they’ve created another step in the production chain to remove all sugars for this sugar-free variety.
Ingredients: oatmilk (filtered water, whole grain oat flour), 2% or less of: sunflower oil, vitamin and mineral blend (calcium carbonate, vitamin a palmitate, vitamin d2, riboflavin [b2], vitamin b12), dipotassium phosphate, gellan gum, sea salt, locust bean gum, ascorbic acid (to protect freshness), natural flavor. Produced on equipment shared with dairy and soy; see their website for details on their food allergen processes.*

Extra Creamy
A notch up in indulgence from the Plain variety, the Extra Creamy is a little sweeter and a little richer. No watery oat milk here!
Ingredients: oatmilk (filtered water, oat concentrate), sunflower oil, vitamin and mineral blend (calcium carbonate, vitamin a palmitate, vitamin d2, riboflavin, vitamin b12), dipotassium phosphate, sea salt, gellan gum, locust bean gum, ascorbic acid (to protect freshness), natural flavor. What Others Are Saying ...
Oat yeah the best
I love this product . I love the zero sugar brand . Not a fan of almond milk. I use this is smoothies all the time
It was just fine
I use the zero sugar, I’m diabetic and I watch my sugars and carbs. I also have a life long allergy to wheat and milk…the point …for those of us that must adapt our diets this milk alternative fits the bill. It’s also much more environmentally friendly than almonds and as for cashews, well they are on a watch list for human rights.
Red and White Carton Silk Oat Yeah Oatmilk
I love this because I am on a low oxalate diet. I drink this to prevent calcium oxalate kidney stones. With two eight ounce glasses of this milk, I get almost all my calcium needed for one day. (that’s 460mg per glass!) Plus if I’m eating something higher in oxalates, this helps balance out the oxalates. The sugar content is low (5g each of regular sugar and added sugar), plus lots of other vitamins. What’s not to like?
Trash
Gross!!!! Yuck wow no no this is horrible silk shame on you
The 0 Sugar One
Taste is obviously a preference, but I love this one and I love that it doesn’t have added B-12 (I am sensitive to it). I drink it in coffee and tea and sometimes a smoothie.
Surprising how good the extra creamy version is
Better than milk, in my opinion. Have only tried the extra creamy version, however
The Plain One
Chose it as a low cost alternative to the brand I prefer since my choice wasn’t available. It didn’t meet my expectations. I thought it tasted “kind of oily”. My housemate thought it tasted like “uncooked flour”
Overwhelming Taste and Gross Texture
I switched from Chobani to Silk Oat Milk to try something new, and was immediately extremely disappointed. I have been using oatmilk in my coffee everyday for the past few months and Silk Oat Milk left gritty particles in the bottom on my mug that were nauseating, and had an overwhelming flavor. As someone who enjoys oat products in general, this was still a unsavory flavor.
Too Overpowering
Tried putting the plain one in my coffee and I thought my flavor syrup had gone bad. Then I put the oat milk in my cereal and realized the overpowering, pungent taste was the milk. Couldn’t taste my coffee, couldn’t taste my cereal; all I could taste was the worst oat milk I’ve ever had.
Refreshing, creamy but not heavy, great alternative to goats milk
Everyone has their opinion but mine is that the plain Silk Oat Yeah is a great alternative to all the goats milk I buy. It has a gentle taste and easy on my stomach (I’ve had some IBS that comes and goes). So glad it’s now available up here in Canada at my local SAFEWAY. I’ll be buying more for sure. (It’s also cheaper than goats milk)
