Silk Soymilk has Bean Around Longer than Most Milk Beverages

    0
By Alisa Fleming on January 25, 2020 Dairy-Free Milk Substitute Reviews, Product Reviews

The very first milk alternative I used was Silk Soymilk. We bought it for enjoying morning cereal, and we were actually quite smitten with the full-bodied taste. As we progressed to smoothies, their unsweetened version became our new favorite.

That was quite a long time ago, and literally hundreds of dairy-free milk beverages have come and gone between then and now. But this has remained a favorite in countless households, including our own. It’s naturally high in protein and micro-nutrients, and it’s made with whole soybeans, the “good” kind of soy. (Read my Soy Report for more details).

    Unsweetened soy milk was sweet

    Rated 1.0 out of 5
    August 22, 2023

I got Silk Unsweetened Soy Milk to make bechamelle sauce for lasagna. To my dismay after I melted the butter and mixed the flower for the sauce, I tasted the milk and it is SWEET. Not only it’s sweet, but it has a definite VANILLA taste….I cannot use it to make bechamelle. I had to throw the flower/butter mixture and also the milk. What a waste! imagine if I had guests and was preparing something for a dinner. I’d be stuck. It is salse advertising not to warn that there is a vanilla flavor and it is sweet.

Silk Original Soy - the bestest!!

    Rated 5.0 out of 5
    January 1, 2022

I’m a vegetarian and started with the Silk Original Soy in 2000. My favorite with breakfast cereal in cold state. Much more tasty and creamy than any other milk. I am probably the only one who enjoys this in 2 other forms: 1. Warm it in a cup/bowl with a bit of sugar and use it to dip toasted oatmeal bread. 2. My ultimate comfort food. A bowl of Steamed rice, Original Silk Soy, a spoon of yogurt and a pinch of salt. Stir fried veggies on the side as an extra treat! I have tried many many brands in the past 21 years but nothing has been as good as the Silk Original Soy. I hope they never change the recipe. Thank you!

    Pretty Good

I used to drink this one all of the time, but now I am starting to try the other plant based milks to see if I like the others better. The vanilla or very vanilla is the best!
