There are a lot of low-calorie, dairy-free ice creams emerging, but Snow Monkey Superfood Ice Treat shuns any type of funny business. They go wild with healthy ingredients in their exotic ice cream flavors, and avoid sugar alcohols. Each flavor is sweetened naturally with fruit and fruit juice, and a few varieties have a touch of maple syrup added.
Snow Monkey Wants You to Eat No Evil with their Dairy-Free Ice Cream
When I spotted Snow Monkey Superfood Ice Treat at Whole Foods, I assumed they had a wildlife conservation mission, like Endangered Species. But the image refers more to their banana base and “no evil” ingredients. In fact, the ingredient lists read like healthy smoothie recipes!

Additional Allergen Notes*
I asked the company about potential cross-contamination issues with allergens, since I was concerned that the “made in a facility” warning wasn’t the whole story. They shared the following information:
Our products are free from all 8 major allergens including gluten, dairy, soy, and nuts. They are also made in a dedicated nut-free facility. The only major allergen that is handled on the same line as our products is milk. However, our products undergo intensive allergen testing to ensure there is no traces of any of the major allergens both. This testing is conducted in the manufacturing facility as well as by a private, third party laboratory.

Horrible taste
I tried 5 flavors.
Every single one of them worst than the other one.
Rock solid, icy, not creamy at all, and awful flavor. I do not recomend and definetly not buying it again.
Worst Frozen Thing Ever
This is the worst ice cream or ice cream-adjacent product I’ve ever tried, and my bar is pretty low. Icy, chalky, astringent and totally unsatisfying. I love each of the ingredients, but together they’re a disaster. Also- it took nearly an HOUR for this pint to thaw enough to get the tip of my spoon in there. It’s all so wrong.
No thanks.. try again
I appreciate the effort but I could make this myself and I’d still throw it out..extremely disappointed. Especially at the cost. I mean come on!? For something with 2 stars this is just the biggest rip off. There’s nothing special about the ingredients either.
I like it
I really enjoy snow monkey. The thing is, it doesn’t taste like ice cream – so if you go in expecting ice cream you might be disappointed. Personally, I think it’s a really enjoyable vegan dessert that I don’t have to feel bad about eating.
No taste
Will not purchase again!
Horrible. Looks Like Baby Doo.Tastes Worse!
I didn’t think that anyone could make an ice-cream that I would actually hate and have to throw out. Passion fruit was the flavor but this greenish yellow chalky mess didn’t look, taste or smell like a passion fruit. I’d ask my grocery store for a refund as this was a waste of my money. Tossed it after the second bite. Due to the covid19 restrictions my grocery store isn’t refunding food returns.
worst ever non dairy ice cream alternative
Did anyone even do a taste test on this first? I was craving chocolate ice cream but wanted something low in sugar and cholesterol and found this. Unless I have a bad batch, there is absolutely NO chocolate flavor at all. As soon as I tasted it I threw it out. It tastes like creamy, sour fruit and not the good kind of sour. Very disappointed in my waste of money for an expensive pint of dessert.
"we proved them wrong." no, you didnt
This stuff has notes of a breakfast oatmeal, which sounds good. Except they blend the oatmeal and add some dirt and sand to give it the consistency of wet sand. They freeze it and put it in stores.
The vitamin review below is pretty spot on.
Like chewing on frozen vitamins
This stuff is absurdly bad. I bought 2 pints to try two flavors that sounded delicious. Vitamin Enriched Dirt is the closest flavor comparison. Can I have my $15 back?
Response from Go Dairy Free
You would need to contact the company or the store where you bought it if you are looking for a refund.
Cinnamon and Cacao are my favorites
I’ve tried most of the flavors and all are good, but Cinnamon and Cacao are my favorites. I love that I can eat a whole pint of Cinnamon without any guilt. The flavor is sweet and just a little spicy. Our kids like Goji and Passion Fruit the best since they’re more fruity.
