So Delicious Dairy Free Nog and Holiday Beverages

As of 2019, So Delicious Dairy Free Nog was still available seasonally, but they had discontinued their other Holiday Beverage flavors. We’ll update this post with all current details and ingredients when the season rolls around again.

Dairy-Free Holiday Beverages - So Delicious Nog (Coconut Milk Based)

So Delicious Dairy Free Nog and Holiday Beverages are now available in shelf-stable packages (don’t be fooled by the grocery stores that insist on selling them in the cold case!), so you can stock up and enjoy these Limited Edition flavors for months after the holidays wrap up.

We tested each of the So Delicious Dairy Free holiday beverages, all with their coconut beverage base, in two separate households to get all-age opinions:

So Delicious Dairy Free Nog Coconut Milk

Could it be – a dairy free nog that tastes as good as the real thing? Having just experimented with several homemade nogs myself, both with eggs and without, I have to say that this was a So Delicious surprise. Thick, rich, and creamy, yet still perfectly pourable, the Nog from So Delicious hit the mark for consistency, flavor (with that notable hint of nutmeg), and drinkable dessert appeal.

Our resident teen, proclaimed, “It tastes like pudding before it sets up! To which I responded, “You eat pudding before it sets up?” She shot me a guilty smile and continued on to say that it tastes like there is some cinnamon (it is just the nutmeg) and is amazing, but almost a little too rich for her.

That luxurious thickness was what I expected of a good dairy free nog, so to me it was perfectly sweet and delightfully decadent. Tony concurred, stating that it is “Good, really good.” He was honestly surprised at how close this was to “traditional” nog.

In Sarah’s house, the adults liked the So Delicious Dairy Free Nog best. In fact, she proclaimed it her favorite of the three. “It has all of the seasonal flavor I love without the heaviness of traditional eggnog. The Nog flavors marry well with the coconut, too.”

So Delicious Dairy Free Pumpkin Spice Coconut Milk

The dairy free nog seemed like a hard act to follow, but the Pumpkin Spice coconut milk holiday beverage was determined to take the stage. It was similar to the dairy free Nog in sweet creaminess, but the Pumpkin Spice diverged with its own flavor profile that was akin to drinkable pumpkin pie filling! I can think of no better way to describe it, so we will leave it at that. If you scoop pumpkin pie filling by the spoonful before baking, then this holiday beverage is a must try for you.

In Sarah’s house, the Pumpkin Spice was voted as the crowd favorite. She said, “I can see why. So many pumpkin spice items are all spice, no pumpkin. In the So Delicious Pumpkin Spice Coconut Milk, the clean, wholesome pumpkin flavor is clear, accented by just the right amount of spice.”

So Delicious Dairy Free Mint Chocolate Coconut Milk

Unlike the other two, the Mint Chocolate is lower in sugar (though not sugar-free) with the addition of stevia and monk fruit extract to keep it perfectly sweet. Our teen tester is a huge fan of mint, chocolate, and unique sweeteners, so she simply adored this refreshing sip. My friend Caroline rated the Mint Chocolate as her hands down favorite, saying that it has a “grown-up” taste and a nice rich consistency. Indeed, it drank more like 2% milk, offering a lighter taste and mouth feel.

I really liked the contrast of the Mint Chocolate, and how the mint undertones were present, but not overwhelming. It was voted as “amazing in coffee”, and we all agreed it could be a sensational instant hot chocolate. Tony wasn’t a big fan of the flavor due to the alternate sweeteners. I confess that we’re both still purists when it comes to sugar, so the dairy free nog was still first in our books. Luckily there were two other testers who were happy to claim the rest for themselves.

Sarah’s household also gave the Mint Chocolate a sweet review. She said, “Some of the little ones in our family find some mint-flavored items to be too “spicy,” but the balance of chocolate and mint in the So Delicious Mint Chocolate Coconut Milk is just right.”

  2. I would like to send this to someone who can not find it. I saw above that even though stores sell it cold it can be kept for several months (hard to believe anyone would since it’s so good!) without refrigeration.

My question: Can I ship this from Texas to Pennsylvania without packing it in styrofoam and ice packs?

    • I think the new packages are actually shelf-stable. Check on the package though – it will either say “keep refrigerated” or “refrigerate after opening”. For the latter, you should be fine.

I have been waiting for these reviews. I have tried all of them. I found the chocolate mint last year. I haven’t found it yet this year. The other two, I have tried this year. They are all great!

  5. LOVE the dairy free nog. I am a HUGE fan of egg nog, but cannot drink it anymore due to the milk/cream. So I found this with the expectation that it would be a far cry from the drink I have loved for so many years. I was so pleased. It tastes better than egg nog! I am so happy to have found this.

  6. My husband is an egg nog junkie this time of year. He tried getting me to try it with him last year, to attempt to hook me too, but I was dairy-free at that point. This year, he found this product and we both lit up in our faces. We will be keeping stock until spring. 🙂

And PS, I didn’t like egg nog even when I was not dairy-free.

  7. I grabbed the soy (as opposed to coconut) version of the Pumpkin Spice at a local store and was pretty disappointed. I’ve been drinking non-dairy milks for years, so I felt like I was familiar enough to know what to expect. Unfortunately, it was quite thin and watery, and while the initial flavor wasn’t unpleasant, I found the after-taste to be bitter and almost chemical. I’ll have to try the coconut one for comparison if I run across it!
