Sunbutter Sunflower Butter makes Top Allergen-Free Recipes Easy

Sunbutter is the most pleasant sounding name for a product! It is a sunflower seed butter, that can be enjoyed in place of peanut butter. It’s not only enjoyed by people allergic to peanuts, but also in many households that need “school safe” options. Peanuts and even all tree nuts have been banned from many classrooms, but SunButter is free of all top allergens.

SunButter Reviews, Information, and Dairy-Free, Nut-Free Recipes

Sunbutter Sunflower Butter makes Allergen-Free Recipes Easy

Sunbutter has a pretty distinct flavor. To me, it has a bitterness that I didn’t like at first. But with a touch of sweetness added, I thought it was quite delicious. I’ve tried it on bagels, in smoothies, drizzled on pancakes, and even in recipes that call for peanut butter, like spicy peanut sauce and peanut satay. We don’t have peanut concerns in our home, but I test a lot of my recipes peanut-free for those who do.

You can also bake with Sunbutter, but there is one important thing to know. If your recipe calls for baking soda, the end result might have a greenish hue! There is no harm in this, and it doesn’t affect the flavor. But sunflower seeds react with baking soda to create a noticeable green tint.

    Great peanut-free alternative

When I need to make something peanut-free, I reach for SunButter … or a generic that I’m sure is made by SunButter! It does swap in very well for peanut butter, but can turned baked goods with baking soda green. Because sunflower seeds are a little more bitter, the no sugar is a bit more intense than peanut butter.

If you haven’t tried Sunbutter, you must! It is every bit as good as peanut butter, and much better than soynut butter. It is fantastic in a sunbutter and jelly sandwich, cookies, etc.
