Sweet Amsterdam Stroopwafels are Authentically Free of Dairy and Gluten

For those of you who, like me, are new to the stroopwafel, it’s a big wafer-like cookie made from two thin layers of baked waffle with a caramel syrup filling. These treats are popular in the Netherlands, and they are usually made with dairy and wheat ingredients. But Sweet Amsterdam Stroopwafels are dairy-free, gluten-free, and organic, and they boast “authentic flavor.”

Tasting Notes for Sweet Amsterdam Stroopwafels

My stroopwafel exposure is limited, so I can’t compare these to “classic” wheat and dairy containing versions. But I can tell you that these are really darn good.

Sweet Amsterdam Stroopwafels have a perfectly light, crisp, and thin waffle exterior, which quickly gives way to a tender, chewy caramel filling. Together, the package is a unique cookie-like experience with a sweet finish. I was going to split one with Tony, but quickly found myself devouring the whole stroopwafel! Lucky for him, we had more.
