Trader Joe’s Soy Creamer Stays the Dairy-Free Course (DISCONTINUED for now …)

    5
By Alisa Fleming on March 22, 2019 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

We believe Trader Joe’s was sourcing their creamer from Wildwood. Unfortunately, Wildwood stopped producing creamers and milks altogether (now they only make tofu and mayo products). And it looks like they’ve yet to find another manufacturer for Trader Joe’s Soy Creamer.

Silk Soy Creamer is similar (and still available). But Silk doesn’t use contain the controversial ingredient carrageenan, which tends to work well in creamers like TJ’s. Sunrich Barista Soymilk is another option. It is a commercial product, so it isn’t sold in stores, but can be bought in bulk online.

This product has come and gone over the years, but 2020 might have been it’s demise. We’re I know many people are hoping for a return, but production issues might have put an end to this beloved product. We’ll update if it returns!

Trader Joe’s Soy Creamer Stays the Dairy-Free Course

This review of Trader Joe’s Soy Creamer was shared with us by Alicia de los Reyes during her writing days with A Nice Cuppa.

While visiting some friends and drinking their coffee I discovered a lovely coffee mix-in: Trader Joe’s Soy Milk Creamer.  Usually I stay away from soy in my coffee, but I decided to try it.  Guess what?  Deliciousness.  Not soy-like at all.

It was quite sweet, though, and that’s what inspired me to try it in my other favorite morning beverage, English Breakfast tea.  Shazam!  I was a convert.  It reminded me of the kind of tea made with boiling leaves and milk and water in a big pot with about sixteen cups of sugar.  The tea was strong enough to hold up to the sweetness; herbal and more delicate black teas would taste like flavored milk with this stuff stirred in. Chai would be excellent.

    Best non dairy creamer!

    Rated 5 out of 5
    November 11, 2020

This is by far the best non-dairy creamer out there – it not only tastes delicious, it LOOKS like you used half & half. It’s just barely a touch sweeter, which is so much better than Silk’s creamer. Price is better than any others too. Unfortunately, TJ’s are searching for another source and it’s not available until mid to late January, 2021. Their other products – a coconut creamer and an almond/coconut creamer, don’t even come close!

Delicious, creamy and not too sweet. My coffee does not taste good any more! Bring the product back! Anybody knows if it can be obtained directly from the supplier?

This is the only dairy free creamer that I have found good. Gives a creamy texture, not too sweet. Never found a similar product. It is horrible when it goes out. If I knew how I would buy it from the supplier.

    Response from Go Dairy Free

We don’t know who produced it for them. The only other soy creamer on the U.S. market is Silk -> https://www.godairyfree.org/product-reviews/silk-soy-creamer-review

I love this creamer so much that anything else in my coffee doesn’t work. I just found out that Trader Joe’s has discontinued with the supplier and is looking for a new vendor. I’m so sad. Anyone know how to find this elsewhere? Who is the vendor or supplier? I want my soy milk creamer back!!!

We’ve tried every non-dairy creamer we can find, and nothing tasted as good as this one! Silk creamers come close, and we’ve used them in a pinch, when they’ve been out at TJs, but not only are they not quite as good, they cost more too.

    Missing TJ's Soy Creamer

    October 19, 2020

I’m looking for something to replace the Trader Joes Soy Creamer since it will be out of stock until sometime in Jan 2021. It’s terrible that there is nothing else out there that’s not so sweet and turns your coffee creamy. I do like the Oatly Barista Oat Creamer but it’s spotty with availability as well (Whole Foods Markets).

    Best Creamer

    Rated 5 out of 5
    October 15, 2020

In my opinion, this is the best vegan creamer. This actually changes the color of my coffee (I know that’s a mental thing haha) without having to use too much. But other vegan creamers are either very thin/watery, or too thick where they’re clumpy almost. This is perfect. The flavor is delicious! And I don’t think it’s too sweet either, or very sweet at all. Most other vegan creamers seem to overcompensate with flavored creamers or they’re really sweet. If you just want a normal not flavored or super sweet cup of coffee this is perfect. This is the perfect creamer, I’m super bummed anytime it’s discontinued for a while.

Something has changed in the soy milk creamer. It no longer froths in my nespresso frothier and is not quite as sweet as before.

      • Alisa Fleming on April 30, 2018 7:32 am

Interesting – on two accounts. The change, and they have it at your Trader Joe’s store now? I was told it was discontinued.

        • Karen on May 13, 2018 12:29 pm

It’s been at my Trader Joe’s now for years. I guess they brought it back? I like it better than any other dairy-free creamer I’ve tried so far.

          • Alisa Fleming on May 14, 2018 12:07 pm

You are the second person to say that Karen. It still isn’t at my TJ’s, but it sounds like it is at some!
