I was getting ready to post a recipe that Violife shared with us, when I realized we didn’t have the key ingredient in our product review section. Violife Vegan Cream Cheese alternative has actually been around for a few years, but not long ago, they added a couple flavors, including a unique cheddar variety. That Grilled Mexican Street Corn Recipe uses the easy-to-find Original variety of Violife, but we have all three varieties detailed below.
Violife Vegan Cream Cheese Lays it on Thick with Three Savory Flavors
More and more dairy-free cheese makers are releasing multiple flavors of cream cheese alternative. But to the best of our knowledge, this is the only mainstream cheddar variety. But please do leave your own unbiased rating and review below if you buy and try any Violife Vegan Cream Cheese flavors. It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.

More Allergen Notes
Violife shared the following information with us on their allergen protocols:
Regarding dairy ingredients, please note that we do share lines in some parts of the production process. However, we clean our equipment VERY meticulously, with multiple allergen swab testings to confirm absence of cross-contamination with dairy. Furthermore, production samples are sent to an accredited lab for allergen analysis. Our results are consistently negative for the presence of any dairy allergens.
Please note though that testing for absence of any dairy allergen is conducted as mentioned via multiple swab testing with a 0.4ppm* sensitivity after the weekend full cleaning. Once negative results are achieved our vegan production can commence Monday morning. We must stress that a negative result at 0.4ppm means that there is no dairy allergens present in concentration above that point.
*PPM = part per million, or less than 0.4 mg allergen in 1 Kg of product, or less than 0.01 mg in 20gr (1 slice) of product. 1mg = One thousandth of a gram.
As stated, the aforementioned allergens are not detectable by our testing; we guarantee that there are no allergens above our testing thresholds. We have never had an issue and we export globally.

Violife plain cream cheese
Well, I just drove a couple hours to a store that Carrie’s Violife to stock up! That should tell you how good it is! It’s the closest to cream cheese I have found! It doesn’t work well in baking, cooking but it’s great in cold sips and just spread on a bagel! No aftertastes or funky secondary flavors!
