Hearty Granola (Egg-Free, Soy-Free)

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup wheat flakes (may use more rolled oats if you can't find wheat flakes)
  • ½ cup wheat germ or ground flax seed
  • ½ cup sliced or chopped almonds
  • ⅓ cup raisins
  • ⅓ cup chopped dried apple or prune
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Preheat the oven to 300F.
  2. Combine all ingredients before honey.
  3. In a smaller bowl combine honey, water, and vanilla.
  4. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Spread in a 13x9 in baking dish.
  6. Bake for 40-50 min or until golden brown, stirring occasionally
