I’ve seen it happen many times. Someone has cut out dairy and is lamenting the loss of cream and cheese. All seems lost, when a bowl of guacamole is set in front of them. Their sudden smile emanates with hope and happiness as they realize it’s naturally dairy free. Guacamole is a dairy-free turning point for so many people – the reality that many amazing, and yes, even creamy foods, are made without a drop of dairy. And really, without any top allergens at all.
The Simple Guacamole Recipe that Everyone Needs
We all should have a delicious, simple guacamole recipe as our go to. This one is mine. It’s a basic formula that was shared with me by my friend Janelle, back when she ran her blog Talk of Tomatoes.
You can, of course, enjoy this simple guacamole with tortilla chips. I won’t judge. You can even combine it with salsa, and perhaps black beans to mix things up. But I also love it as a spread on burgers, as a substitute for cream cheese on bagels (yes, it’s great with lox!), and in place of sour cream on chili, enchiladas, tacos, bowls, you name it!
