Orange Dream Ice Cream Float for Grown-ups

    0
By Tamasin Noyes on August 12, 2012 Beverages, Dairy Free Desserts, Dairy-Free Recipes

Tami Noyes ~ As a kid, I lived on orange juice floats every summer. Now as an adult, the vodka gives an edge to this refreshing ice cream float. We keep our vodka in the freezer so the ice cream melts a little slower when it hits the alcohol. To make these for a crowd, make the ice cream scoops ahead of time. Freeze the scoops on a parchment lined sheet for quicker preparation.

Editor’s Note: There are many, many vegan ice cream brands on the market (aside from homemade!) to keep this ice cream float recipe dairy-free. But choose wisely if you have other dietary needs. Seek out rice-based, hemp-based, or coconut-based vegan ice creams if you need a float that is soy-free, nut-free, peanut-free, etc. Keep in mind that some dairy-free ice creams may sneak a little gluten in, though most are gluten-free. In other words, read the labels carefully!
