This gluten-free chocolate chip brownies recipe was an official entry in one of our prior So Delicious Dairy Free Recipe Contests by Deanna Harris.
This vegan recipe is more like a blondie or bar chocolate chips cookie than a brownie, but dense with chocolate chips for more of the chocolate factor.
Special Diet Notes: Quinoa Chocolate Chip Brownies
By ingredients, this recipe is dairy-free / non-dairy, egg-free, gluten-free, peanut-free, soy-free, vegan / plant-based, and vegetarian.
For nut-free Quinoa Chocolate Chip Brownies, you can substitute a nut-free, dairy-free milk alternative, such as coconut milk beverage.
- ¼ cup agave nectar
- ⅓ cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
- ¼ cup plain almond milk
- ⅓ cup dairy-free, soy-free yogurt
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 1 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup quinoa flour
- ½ cup quinoa flakes
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup dairy-free chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
- In a large mixing bowl combine agave, sugar, almond milk, yogurt, oil, and vanilla. Stir until combined.
- Add flour, quinoa flakes, baking powder, and salt to the liquid mixture and stir to combine.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread batter into a greased brownie pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
