This was a contest-winning recipe created by Alisa L.for the PB My Way recipe contest. It has been adapted for dairy free and vegan.

Apple Filling
Peanut Butter Crumble
  1. Bake the pie crust as instructed by the recipe or package.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350ºF.
  3. To make the apple filling, put the apples, sugar, flour, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well distributed.
  4. Spoon the apple mixture into the baked pie crust.
  5. To make the peanut butter crumble, put the oats, flour, and brown sugar in a medium bowl and whisk to combine.
  6. Add the buttery spread and peanut butter and whisk until pea-sized crumbs form.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble over the apples. Don’t worry if it appears tall; the apples will cook down .
  8. Cover the pie crust edge with foil.
  9. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, removing the foil in the last 15 minutes.
  10. Garnish the pie with chopped peanuts, if desired.
