Award-Winning Foods that Caught Our Dairy-Free Fancy


Sofi GoldLast week the 54th Summer Fancy Food Show was held in New York, and several food producers were honored with sofi™ Awards for outstanding products of 2008. The sofi™ Awards recognize excellence in specialty foods and beverages in 32 categories.  This year they had a record 2,191 entries to choose from, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a few dairy-free products (including “ice cream”!) were selected as gold winners.  As a matter of fact, I believe each of the following is gluten-free and vegan too, but I would check with the company just to be sure …

Select dairy-free (made without milk ingredients, verify if cross-contamination is a concern for you) winners of the 36th annual 2008 sofi™ Awards were:

The following condiment items also won, and appear to be dairy-free, but we were unable to confirm on all of them. Plus, they were perhaps a bit too fancy to make our top choice list above. But, we will let you be the judge:
