I actually grew up with a love for carob, but a dislike of chocolate. Odd, I know. While chocolate has gradually become a dessert staple, there is a special place in my heart for those elusive carob sweets. Difficult to find dairy-free, I was excited when I spotted Missy J’s Carob Truffley Treats at a trade show. These bite-sized carob confections come three to a pack, and equate to a full candy bar in both size and satisfaction.
Tasting Notes for Missy J’s Carob Truffley Treats
Unlike chocolate, there is no caffeine, and unlike most other carob products, their are no hydrogenated or fractionated oils, no refined sugar, and no dairy of any kind. In fact, they are all vegan friendly!
But keep in mind, these are carob not chocolate. It is a completely different, yet in my opinion equally amazing, taste experience.
Peanut Butter Crisp
The rich peanut butter melded SO well in these sweet carob confections. The smooth and milky centers were dotted with just a smattering of rice crisps for textural interest. The carob was broken up only by a smattering of rice crisps.

Mint, Lime and Sea Salt
The first time I tried these, the peppermint oil overwhelmed my taste buds. I think they reformulated, as the second time I had this flavor, it was a perfect symphony. The unique combination of lime and mint was in harmony and the sea salt added the perfect amount of contrast.

On the mellow side, I thought this flavor was pretty darn amazing. The taste was simple and clean, with touches of coconut and almond throughout. The hint of sea salt seemed to brighten the wonderful overall sweetness rather than assert itself.

I love you product because I have many food allergies and chocolate is one of them. I also have problems with palm oil. Do you have anything that doesn’t have palm oil in it.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
I have never seen a carob confection that wasn’t made with palm oil, but you could make your own.
