They’re down, but not out. Delighted by Dessert is transitioning their product line in a big way. When they have new products, we’ll add them. In the mean time, you can still get Tribe Dessert Hummus, Hope Chocolate Dip, or make your own Cinnamon Caramel Dessert Hummus.
Hummus for dessert? Yes you heard that right! Delighted By Dessert Hummus offers sweet flavors like Brownie Batter, Vanilla Bean, Snickerdoodle, and Choc-O-Mint. As a hummus fan, these peaked my interest when I first saw them in the store. I didn’t think the concept was crazy, because I had previously made chocolate and peanut butter hummus at home.
At the time, Snickerdoodle was the only Delighted by Dessert Hummus flavor in stock at my local store. My husband, who isn’t a fan of hummus, was very hesitant to give it a try. And when I did get him to sample it, he said “it’s still hummus.” If you don’t like hummus in general, then these might not be for you. I really like them, and think it’s a fun new way to enjoy hummus and a healthy option for sweet cravings.
Although it is called “dessert hummus,” I think these spreads/dips are also a great option for breakfast, lunch boxes, and snacks. The pairings and ways to enjoy Delighted by Dessert Hummus really are endless. And since Delighted By Hummus appeared on Shark Tank, my local store started stocking all of the flavors! Of course, they were completely out of stock for a few weeks following the show. But I was recently able to purchase and sample each variety.
Tasting Notes for Delighted By Dessert Hummus
I will start off by saying that I don’t find any of the Delighted By Dessert Hummus flavors overly sweet. And, as mentioned, it is still hummus by texture and there is an underlying chickpea influence on the flavor. Also, I haven’t tried all of the current flavors, but have included my notes on the ones we tried below. We’ve added basic information for all of the flavors.
Edible Brownie Batter
The fudgy texture and subtly sweet chocolate flavor make this my favorite flavor! Not only because I could sit and eat it with a spoon but also because I think it’s the most versatile. You can dip anything in it for a snack: fresh berries, bananas, pretzels, or graham crackers. Or you can use it as a topping for your favorite desserts, spread it on toast, or even add a spoon to your oats (guilty). One of my daughters isn’t a big hummus fan, but this was the one I had her try. It didn’t disappoint, and is a delightfully healthy way for both of us to get our chocolate fix!
Ingredients: garbanzo beans, coconut oil, water, coconut milk, organic turbinado sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, pure vanilla extract, cultured dextrose, sea salt, nisin.

Mint Chocolate Fudge
(Note: They have changed the formula of this flavor slightly since our review, and it used to be called Choc-O-Mint.) By the spoonful, this flavor reminded us of that favorite chocolate mint cookie sold by little girls once a year. You know the one! I would love to have a tub of this in my refrigerator at all times, so I could enjoy a bite whenever a sweets craving hits. It’s great on desserts, cookies, and crackers. The only problem is that it doesn’t pair well with fruits. I found the mint a little overpowering for fruit, but that just challenges me to get more creative with pairings! After all, a tub of this flavor should never go to waste.
Ingredients:Â garbanzo beans, organic sugar, coconut oil, water, cocoa powder, rice milk powder. cultured dextrose (vegan), peppermint extract, sea salt, ground sesame, nisin (vegan).

Creamy Vanilla Bean
This was the only flavor that I didn’t love at first bite. I love the simplicity of vanilla. I find it calming, and thought this flavor would be reminiscent of vanilla pudding or vanilla bean ice cream. But the chickpea flavor came through a little too much. I wouldn’t eat this one alone, and I probably wouldn’t pair it with desserts. But I do like it with sweet berries. I just wish the vanilla flavor was more pronounced, and that there was a little more sweetness.
Ingredients:Â garbanzo beans, water, organic turbinado sugar, rice milk powder, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cultured dextrose (all natural digestive enzymes), ground vanilla beans, sea salt, nisin (non-dairy based) guar gum.

Snickerdoodle Cookie
I like this flavor, but I wouldn’t eat it straight up with a spoon. I enjoy the subtlety of the cinnamon sugar, and it’s great for pairing when you don’t want an overpowering flavor. We liked it with apple slices, pretzels, and dates for snacking. For a treat, we smash it between allergy-friendly snickerdoodle cookies or graham crackers!

We just bought Choc o mint and it is nothing short of FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend it….curious about the other flavors, too.
Vanilla bean is my fave! I haven’t tried the mint one. There used to be chocolate chip which was yummy but I think it’s no longer produced.
That’s a bummer – chocolate chip seems like it would be good!
The brownie is our favorite and the mint is so good I hope you can find it soon! The chocolate chip one never made it to stores here.
These all look so delicious! I’ll have to look for them the next time I’m grocery shopping!
You’ll have to keep me posted on what you think if you try them!
I have been stalking their products!! I am dreaming of the day when they will be available in my area!! Please say they are expanding quickly!!
It took awhile to get them here and at first it was just a few flavors. Hopefully soon!
Oh my goodness…all these hummus flavors look incredibly delicious! Where HAS this been all my life?! This looks absolutely amazing and I am most definitely craving some of that brownie batter hummus + strawberries this morning!
The Brownie Batter would definitely be my top recommendation to try first!
I had high hopes for this stuff. My DF 12yo thinks it’s nasty. Sigh.
That’s a bummer!
That’s a bummer, what flavor did you try?
