We’ve seen a big surge in nut butter bars lately, so I wasn’t surprised to see Justin’s enter the bar market. They’ve combined their classic almond butter with plant-based protein to create three lightly sweetened flavors of Justin’s Almond Butter Protein Bars. But unlike most bars, these fresh snacks are sold refrigerated.
Justin’s Almond Butter Protein Bars are Chillin’ in 3 Dairy-Free Flavors
By our calculations, each of these dense little bars contains roughly one full ounce of Justin’s Almond Butter. The Original is vegan and sweetened with agave nectar and maple, while the Chocolate Chip and Honey are sweetened with honey and brown rice syrup. But all three are quite a bit lower in sugar than most refrigerated bars.
When you buy and try any of these flavors, be sure to leave your unbiased rating and review below!

Chocolate Chip
As you can see below, this bar has no dairy ingredients, and therefore is dairy-free by ingredients. Plus, the company states these bars as dairy-free, and states “dairy-free” in all descriptions, even on the Target website. (Quick fact: Chocolate, also known as cocoa liquor, is not dairy – milk chocolate is chocolate that has milk added.) However, the brand states it “contains milk” in their FAQs. All three flavors are noted in their FAQs as made on shared equipment. But for some reason, they have chosen to add “contains milk” to the chocolate chip bar. Either they have an undisclosed ingredient (illegal) or are incorrectly using the “contains milk” statement for a “may contain” issue of potential cross-contamination with the chocolate chips in production. We have been told it is the latter, but it is essential that you contact the company yourself to confirm, if you plan to consume this bar and are concerned about an undisclosed ingredient or cross-contamination.
As always, remember that ALL products are at some degree of risk for potential cross-contamination. This is why “may contain” statements are not regulated. We can only verify the ingredients that a product actually “contains.” You must speak to the company to decide if you feel the products are safe for your needs, regardless of if there is a “may contain” statement or not.

I'm hooked!!!!
I love the peanut butter and now in protein bars? This is an awesome product and healthy. I consumed the first box before checking out the chilled version. Guess I have to order more 😉
Delicious!!!
I am so excited about these bars! I especially love the Chocolate chip one!
I am lactose intolerant, so anything like this is exciting!!
The only thing I’d say, is that this one does says it does contain dairy, but I am not really sure what ingredient that would be? I hope it is just a misprint!
