Enjoy Life Boom Choco Boom Chocolate Bars - Dairy-FreeI know, I am a bit late for the chocolate-rich holiday of Easter, but really, does chocolate season ever stop? Below is a full review on the delicious rice "milk" chocolate and dark chocolate bars from Enjoy Life Foods. Lets just say I have a new love. If you decide to gives these bars a go yourself, and can find them in stores, make sure to print up any available coupons from the Enjoy Life website before heading to market. Okay, onto the review …

My latest splurge: Enjoy Life’s Rice Milk Chocolate Bars, donning the name “Boom Choco Boom.” I have sampled most of the new dairy-free “milk” chocolates on the market, and I truly love them all. Some are quite sweet, hitting on my cravings for white chocolate, while some are rich with cocoa buttery goodness. But the Boom Choco Boom rice milk bar strikes that perfect balance, hitting my taste buds just right with every bite. The bar comes in four sizable segments …

While I am a fan of semi-sweet, dark, and even extra-dark chocolate, that sweet hit of “milk” chocolate hits the spot once in a while.  So I was excited to see the rice “milk” bars at my local grocer (in the natural food aisle). They aren’t super-cheap when compared to say … Hershey’s, but the price is actually quite fair ($1.49) for this far superior product that is truly dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, and vegan! (The bars are produced in Enjoy Life’s dedicated facility). Plus, when a craving strikes, it is so nice to be able to walk to my local store and actually grab a chocolate bar right off the shelf – yes, of course I pay for it before tearing in, but the suspense kills me when those grocery lines are long!

I also sampled the Crispy Rice “Milk” Boom Choco Boom Bar. It has the same wonderful milk chocolate, but is done Nestle Crunch-style with rice crispies throughout. It is a bit thicker than a Nestle bar, making for a bit more chocolaty goodness with each crunch. The regular rice “milk” bar works well for both baking and snacking, but this one is a nice change up for snacking. Below is the flip side of the bar so you can see all the crunchies (from the top it looks identical to the regular rice milk bar) …

Enjoy Life also offers a Dark Chocolate Boom Choco Boom Bar (pictured below, to the right of the Rice "Milk" bar), and in typical Enjoy Life fashion, the quality is excellent. It is just a wee bit darker than your average semi-sweet chocolate, and has a rich cocoa taste that isn’t the least bit chalky. I really like the blend, as the cocoa sweetness seems delightful for young taste buds (including my own on those heavy sugar-craving days!), but it is just dark enough to please adult dark chocoholics.

But beyond snacking, there are some wonderful bonuses to so much chocolate variety, such as dairy-free (egg-free and vegan) Cowboy Cookies …

Mountain Cowboy Cookies - Vegan

I used three types of chocolate in these cookies, all from Enjoy Life Foods: Boom Choco Boom Rice “Milk” Bar (cut into chunks), Boom Choco Boom Dark Bar (cut into chunks), Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Mini-Chips. Though you can't see them all, these cookies are packed with chocolate goodness. My husband declared these cookies some of the best I have ever made!

I am still a bit disappointed that I haven’t seen a coconut milk chocolate bar on the market (mmm, so rich and creamy!), but this isn’t an option for companies like Enjoy Life, since coconut is listed as a tree nut by the FDA. Nonetheless, for a rice milk bar, this truly is tops. Don’t miss your chance to sample them!

As mentioned, the Boom Choco Boom chocolate bars are sold in stores – look for them at natural food stores and where your local grocer stocks natural food items. They can also be purchased direct from Enjoy Life Foods, and many Enjoy Life products can be found at a discount on Amazon. Oh, and before heading to the store, check the Enjoy Life website, as they often have printable coupons available.
