My friends to the north, I’m happy to report that America’s best-selling, soy-based vegan yoghurt is now being distributed throughout Canada. British Columbians can already find it at Whole Foods, Choices Markets, and Planet Organic Markets. Hold tight if you are in Eastern Canada – WholeSoy non-dairy yoghurt will hit your store shelves by mid-summer (just in time for making homemade frozen yogurt!).

Tons of Tasty Flavors! The Canadian vegan yoghurt selection from WholeSoy will include their Blueberry, Strawberry, and Vanilla flavors in 6-ounce (170 gram) individual cups, and the Vanilla and Unsweetened Plain flavors in 24-ounce (680 gram) containers. I’ve been purchasing the Unsweetened Plain in our house for over a year – we love it in banana smoothies for a creamy prebiotic meets probiotic breakfast. However, the vanilla is our favorite flavor for eating straight.

Healthy Recipes … No need to stop with a banana smoothie. The following recipes use WholeSoy vegan yoghurt and are no-cook to preserve the probiotic goodness:

Blood Orange Dairy-Free Frozen Yoghurt

Chia Yoghurt Pudding

Creamy Lemon Dill Dressing

Cucumber Vegan Yoghurt Tzatziki

Yes, it is non-GMO! I know that some of you may be concerned about the source of your soy. Rest assured that WholeSoy crafts their awesome vegan yoghurt using only organic, single-source, U.S. grown soybeans. WholeSoy founder and CEO, Ted Nordquist, developed a chemical-free method, following traditional Chinese and Japanese methods, including fermentation, to produce WholeSoy’s own high-quality creamy soybase – the first ingredient in every cup. Live active cultures, grown on a completely dairy-free, plant-based medium, are also added to complete the recipe.

As an extra bonus, WholeSoy products contain complete non-dairy protein with all 8-essential amino acids and all non-essential amino acids. WholeSoy yoghurts are vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and proudly Verified Non-GMO by The Non-GMO Project.

Founded in 1999, WholeSoy & Co. is an independently-owned and operated company located in San Francisco, CA. For more information, visit their website at www.wholesoyco.com or call (877) 569-6376.

This is great news! WholeSoy is my top pick for soy yogurt, so I’m glad they’re spreading the love.

I do relish the idea of more vegan products making it to the market in Canada. I worry that the vegan yogurt market is saturated, with soy, almond and cocount yogurts all available in some major grocery stores. Best of luck to them, hopefully people will dump the cow yogurt for this product. If only it could be placed in the same section of the store, it would be a big boost.

I second Carol – love the non-gmo aspect of this product. Excited to try it.
