Rescue Chocolate discontinued their Truffles and Bon Bons, but they still offer a full line of Rescue Chocolate Bars. All proceeds go toward animal rescue.
Earlier this week, I shared those marvelous Like White Chocolate Bars by Rescue Chocolate. Well, I have another surprise: they also handcraft truffles and bon bons!
Like everything they do, Rescue Chocolate Truffles are far from ordinary. The geometric shapes are somewhat thick shells of their Like White or quite Dark chocolate with comforting fillings.
I’m not quite sure what the difference is between a truffle (the lighter pictured ones below) and a bon bon (the dark chocolate ones pictured below) as both seem to have the same general appearance and coating-filling relationship.
Tasting Notes for Rescue Chocolate Truffles
Salted Caramel Bow Wow Bon Bons
The center is more of a melt in your mouth, ganache meets caramel experience. Far less sticky or chewy than you might expect, but still messy! The outer chocolate shell is deep, dark, and a bit rustic, but not overly bitter. Overall a very grown-up taste with sweet-savory notes that are rich and addictive.
Spectacular Speculoos White Chocolate Truffles
Holy nut butteriness! Though the center is pure wheat-based cookie butter, the nutty Like White Chocolate (made with cacao butter, cashews, cane sugar, chia seeds, Brazil nuts, almonds, vanilla bean powder, and sea salt) sets the flavor tone. It has a unique peanut butter cup-like vibe, that is somehow more refined and yet more rustic. It’s sweet, but also tastes a touch wholesome.
Cookies ‘n Cream White Chocolate Truffles
Unlike the others, these seem more solid throughout with a Like White Chocolate base and a crunchy cookies ‘n cream core. This flavor definitely shouts “time for dessert!” with its thick, slabs of nutty white chocolate and coarsely crushed sandwich cookies. What’s not to love?

These sounds divine! Darn on the nuts, but clearly I can eat these while away from my family.
I am obsessing over the shapes!
I know, aren’t they cute? That company is so unique!
Congratulations on this piece, Alisa. I often mention Rescue Chocolate in my chocolate talks around the country, especially when I discuss chocolate causes. There are several companies, such as Rescue, that contribute to the larger community through their chocolate businesses.
