*Chains – East Side Mario’s

East Side Mario’s is an Italian restaurant chain across Canada (with a heavy concentration of locations in Ontario) that was recommended to us by both Karen at Avoiding Milk Protein and Go Dairy Free viewer Claire. They each stated that the restaurant offers an ingredient binder on site with allergen information, but we recently discovered that an allergen chart is available online, too!

East Side Mario's is an Italian restaurant chain in Canada with a full food allergy guide and gluten-free menu.

At last check, the Allergy Guide was a little hard to see on the East Side Mario’s website, but it was there! Click to the Menu and look for the tiny print near the middle of the screen. Though the options looked limited for dairy-free, they had just enough to keep most diners satisfied. We spied Sausage and Peppers Penne (pictured above), Italian Wedding Soup, Sweet Potato Fries (but a shared fryer), Kung Pao (chicken or shrimp), and even a Strawberry Gelato for dessert, among a few other choices – but menu items and ingredients are subject to change, so be sure to inquire!

To note, this restaurant chain provides gluten-free and vegetarian information directly on their main menu. For East Side Mario’s locations, phone numbers, and to view the menu and allergy guide, see the website below.
