Jamba Juice

For a long time, Jamba Juice has offered a decent amount of dairy-free options – all-fruit smoothies, juices, a couple of blended beverages, and a small smattering of solid foods (oatmeal, baked apple pretzel, etc). But they jumped onto our recommended list with the launch of a full line of Almond Milk Smoothies! The debut includes a seasonal selection with the following:

Jamba Juice Launches into the Dairy-Free Industry with New Almond Milk Smoothies! (pictured: Matcha Green Tea, PB & Berries, and Pumpkin)

Peanut Butter & Berries: A non-dairy smoothie that captures everyone’s favorite combo – peanut butter and jelly – blending almond milk, peanut butter, blueberries, strawberries, and dates for a deliciously nostalgic PB&J option.
Pumpkin: A non-dairy smoothie bursting with fall’s favorite flavor, pumpkin, mixed with almond milk, bananas, and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Matcha Green Tea: A non-dairy smoothie that blends the goodness of Matcha green tea with almond milk, bananas, kale, and dates for an antioxidant-rich pick-me-up of vitamins A & C.

These options may change, but Jamba Juice seems convincing that almond milk smoothies will become permanent on their menu. According to Liz Ward, RD and Jamba Juice Healthy Living Council member:

The demand for almond milk is soaring, as it’s not only delicious tasting, but also plant-based, completely vegan, and cholesterol and lactose-free. Almond milk is also fortified with calcium, vitamin D, vitamin A, and vitamin E – a potent antioxidant that helps protect cells against everyday damage. As such, Jamba Juice’s Almond Milk Smoothies are a great alternative to the high-calorie seasonal treats that often tempt us during this time of year.

And the Jamba Juice website says:

Sorry dairy, things weren’t working out. we just found someone else – almond milk. It makes smoothies that are nutrient-rich, indulgent and better-for-you. We promise, it’s not you, it’s us.

Is this a sign of more dairy-free goodies to come at Jamba Juice? We hope so! See their website for current locations and menu items – they list out the ingredients and allergens on each selection.
