A reader named Amy emailed us years ago to share her excellent experience with Ted’s Montana Grill. Not only do they have allergen information and detailed ingredients on their website, but she said their staff is also allergen trained. This could vary by location, but when Amy visited, they were attentive, helpful, and reportedly cooked her dish separately to help avoid cross contamination. Today, we’re updating this post to be a helpful starter guide to the dairy-free options at Ted’s Montana Grill.
Dairy-Free Menu Guide for Ted’s Montana Grill
Ted’s Montana Grill is an American restaurant chain that was founded by media mogul and bison rancher Ted Turner. They serve a meat-heavy menu, with one house-made vegan entree (pictured below). There are quite a few dairy-free choices, as noted below. But take note that they do cook some of their steaks with butter, so there could be cross-contamination on the grill if the one you are visiting doesn’t have a separate or cleaned grill space.

Note: You can special order their Naked Burgers on a cracked wheat bun or ciabatta bun. Both appear to be dairy-free, but their standard burger brioche bun contains dairy. Additional burger toppings that appear to be dairy-free include bacon, fried egg, grilled mushroom, and grilled onions. The Salmon Burger looks to be dairy-free when ordered without the dill cream sauce, but as always, verify with the staff.
