New Seasons Market was originally recommended to us by Portland resident Alecia. It’s a natural food store chain with locations all over the Portland area. But viewer Nicola let us know that they’ve recently expanded with stores in Washington and California, too.
Nicola says, “This is a local supermarket that has EVERYTHING you could possibly want for special dietary needs. It’s a little pricey but has fantastic choices and a knowledgeable, helpful staff.”
As Nicola states, New Seasons Market is higher than average for pricing. I looked at their sale ad, and their discounted prices are more than I can get on many products elsewhere. But they are a full service grocery store and do provide an amazing selection of special diet grocery items. They even have their own brands of organic and gluten-free products.
Plus, New Seasons Market has launched a line of branded meal kits that include vegan and gluten-free options. There might be an additional dairy-free choice, too. Through a partnership with noted chef Matt Lightner (a recipient of two Michelin stars) they developed five meal kits featuring seasonal recipes with fresh ingredients from local farmers, ranchers and fishermen.
But in every department, New Seasons Market has a strong focus on providing foods from local farmers, producers, ranchers and fisherman. They also have an in-house organic bakery with pastries for “every diet”. Gluten-free is mentioned specifically, but I’m betting they accommodate dairy-free, or at least vegan, too.
For customers in the Portland area, New Seasons Market has also partnered with PrimeNow to offer free 2-hour delivery to Amazon Prime members in the Portland area. However, you may want to go in store to get lunch at their Wok Bar, Sandwich Deli, or other fresh food stations.
