Pamela’s 5th Annual “Gluten-Free Recipe Contest” is Underway


Pamela's 2010 Recipe Contest - Gluten-FreeTechnically, the contest opened on June 1st, but have no fear, Pamela's is taking submissions for this contest through August 16th, 2010. Plenty of time to whip up your favorite gluten-free, dairy-free recipe using one or more of Pamela's Products.

Not all of Pamela's Products are dairy-free, but several are. I encourage each of you to show Pamela's how awesome dairy-free recipes can be, by selecting one or more of their dairy-free products to enter your own contest-winning recipe. See the quick reference Allergen Chart on Pamela's website to spot your ingredients.

The theme of this year’s contest is ‘Bite Sized Delights’. The concept invites contestants to create gluten-free miniature variations of favorite dishes using any of the Pamela’s Products brand products. To help get your creative juices flowing, the contest hosts at Pamela's offer a further explanation of this bite-sized theme below:

"Cultures around the world have enjoyed small plates for generations.  From tapas, to dumplings to sliders, ‘mini’ dishes can be small in size but big in flavor.  Recipes for pint-sized dishes such as individual sized pizza or two-bite muffins are ideal for on-the-go lunches, creative snack food, and appetizers for parties or single-serve entrees. Perfect for busy parents, college students or party hosts, mini-dishes are a fun way to make an ordinary day festive."

And what would a recipe contest be without some prizes? The winners will be chosen by the Pamela's Products team on September 30th, 2010. The winning recipe entries will be featured on the Pamela’s Products website and in their newsletter. Plus, one Grand Prize winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to a kitchen supply store and First and Second Runner-Ups will receive $100 gift certificates. 

Contestants can submit entries on the Pamela’s Products website or mail in their entries.  Entry forms are available on the Pamela’s Products website,  Mailed entries can be sent to Pamela’s Products, Recipe Contest, 200 Clara Ave., Ukiah CA 95482.

Contest Rules & Regulations

All Gluten-Free Recipe Entries Must:

  1. Use a minimum of one Pamela's Products brand product as an ingredient;
  2. List all ingredients with exact US measurements in order of use;
  3. Include descriptions of any special gluten-free items that may not be readily available, or that require special notice to maintain the recipe as gluten-free;
  4. Include complete step-by-step directions for preparation (including pan size, cooking/baking time, and temperature)
  5. List size and number of servings produced. No illegible, incomplete, forged or altered entries will be accepted.

Recipes will be judged on overall originality, visual appeal, taste, and how well the Pamela’s Products brand product is utilized.
