Chunkie Dunkies: Healthy Raw, Gluten-Free Treats (DISCONTINUED)

By Alisa Fleming on June 30, 2014 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

Select Chunkie Dunkies will be available through 2020, but are then being phased out. See our Dairy-Free Cookies & Brownies Reviews for other options. The founder of Chunkie Dunkies is turning her focus to Dina’s Vegan Deli & Desserts. They make vegan Philly cheesesteaks, hoagies, gyros, and more in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Chunkie Dunkies are “Gourmet Raw Vegan Cookies”, but we enjoyed these virtuous creations as healthy treats, snacks, and even for breakfast!

At just 4 to 5 grams of sugar per big, enticing mound, and packed with wholesome ingredients, we felt no guilt about enjoying Chunkie Dunkies anytime hunger hit.

    Tasting Notes for Chunkie Dunkies

Thus far, we’ve sampled the following Chunkie Dunkies:

    Chocolate Chip Cookies

The nutty combination of nuts, sprouted buckwheat, and coconut provides so much textural interest and flavor that only a little vanilla, maple syrup and agave is needed to create flavor nirvana. The vegan chocolate chips are generous and like icing on these hearty, blonde macaroon-like cakes.

Chunkie Dunkies - Gourmet Raw Vegan Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip, Fudge Brownie)

    Chocolate Mint Chip Cookies

Similar to the Chocolate Chip Cookies but with deep underlying cocoa flavors and a rush of fresh mint flavor! Each bite was bright, although earthy and rich with nice sweet chocolate chunks.

Chunkie Dunkies - Gourmet Raw Vegan Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip, Fudge Brownie)

    Chocolate Chunk Fudge Brownies

These Chunkie Dunkies seriously packed with walnut chunks! These were Tony’s favorite, but I think I would like them best for hiking do to their generous nutty nature. The base is a date fudge that provides a tasty backdrop that isn’t overly sweet.

    Delightfully delicious

Generous amounts of nuts are tempered with buckwheat groats and coconut in these hearty, healthy cookies, while the fudge brownies have a date-base and even more walnut chunks than chocolate. We found all Chunkie Dunkies to be more snack-like than dessert, but delightfully delicious nonetheless.
