Daiya Dairy Free Frozen Pizzas Roll Out with a New Cheesy Recipe

    23
By Alisa Fleming on February 24, 2020 Dairy-Free Frozen Pizza Reviews, Product Reviews

2020 Update! They initially wedged into a small niche for the food allergy community, but Daiya Dairy Free Frozen Pizzas are now taking a bigger slice of the pie. The rapid growth in demand for gluten-free and plant-based options has pulled this product line into nearly every supermarket in America. Consequently, Daiya is now one of the market leaders in frozen pizzas, battling the big boys, like Digiorno and California Pizza Kitchen.

Most dairy-free frozen pizza brands have been scrapped after just a few years, but Daiya continues to rise with more options, increased availability, and new recipes. This year, they’ve upgraded the entire line of Daiya Dairy Free Frozen Pizzas by swapping with their Cutting Board Cheeze Shreds. The Cutting Board Shreds have a better melt than their classic line, and are the varieties most used by restaurants.

Daiya Dairy Free Pizzas Reviews and Information (7 Varieties, all Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, and Soy-Free!) We have ingredients, ratings, and more.

Daiya Dairy Free Frozen Pizzas Roll Out with a New Cheesy Recipe

Nearly every year, Daiya tosses a new variety into the mix, or they undergo some type of reformulation. But they always stay loyal to vegan, gluten-free, and food allergic customers. The information below includes their latest line up and their most recent recipe with the Cutting Board Shreds.

If you’ve tried any Daiya Dairy Free Frozen Pizzas recently, leave your rating and review below, and be sure to tell us which one(s) you tasted! It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.

I’ve been gluten, dairy and egg free for about 5 years, and I’ve tried so many gf pizzas, they were all terrible And then I found Daiya and I must say this is the best I’ve found. I can’t believe that anyone who has tried other gf and dairy free pizzas doesn’t like it. On another note, I’ve tried other Daiya products and love all of them.

Worst pizza I have ever eaten. Crust is like cardboard. Too much cheese and…. meat when opening pkg is floating on the top and easily lost. I took off the coating and left a little sauce, but u had better have good teeth when eating the crust. Never buy it again.

I’m a long-time vegan, haven’t cared about trying the various cheeses or substitutes, and don’t care about pizza, but wanted to try something different. The “cheese” on this actually isn’t bad. The crust makes cardboard sound appealing. (Why does everybody hate gluten? It’s kept humankind alive for thousands of years! I hate dietary fads.) But seriously, this thing has absolutely no nutritional value. It is purely empty calories, and truckloads of them. If you’re going to go for empty calories, get some good dark chocolate and at least enjoy yourself.

I don’t know why folks are complaining. I bought the fire roasted vegetable and it was delicious. I’m not a vegan but making some healthy eating changes. I can’t wait to get all the flavors. The cheese was surprisingly good and the crust outstanding. I think that sadly we have all grown accustomed to lots of preservatives and processed flavor. Thank you Daiya for a delicious meal

It looks very good . Taste is subpar compared to other pizzas that I have tried that were also gluten free . Maybe I picked one that had been stored wrong in the freezer at the store .

I am newly having to eat gluten free. Tried the Daiya Meatless meat Lover’s Pizza. It was awful. The sausage crumbles were little rocks. The crust was cardboard. I had to throw it out. Not a good experience!

    2. Susan White on October 7, 2019 11:27 am

I’m gluten free and my husband brought this pizza home instead of my usual cauliflower crust pizza. I had my mouth set on pizza and what a disappointment. This has to have been the worst pizza I have ever had – anytime anyplace. The crust was hard as a rock, and tasteless and the topping (pseudo cheese and tomato sauce) was awful. It tasted like pure tomato sauce on top of cardboard. I had added ham, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes and mozzarella cheese to it but it didn’t help one bit because the sauce was bitter. I scraped the veggies I had added off it and ate them, threw the pizza away. Ugh!

    3. Johnny on September 7, 2019 6:01 pm

I wish I read these comments before I bought the pizza. The cardboard box that came with it was probably more edible

    4. G. Hall on July 5, 2018 4:30 pm

I tried your frozen pizza, never again. It is he worst pizza I ever had. I truly believe your crust is made from cardboard. The topping was horrible. Your company should be ashamed to sell this product.

      • Alisa Fleming on July 8, 2018 12:43 pm

You need to contact Daiya directly. This is a third party review that is unbiased and unpaid (we bought their pizza ourselves!). We are in no way affiliated with Daiya Foods. Please contact the company directly if you have a complaint.

Don’t buy this pizza. It is the worst. After tasting it I had to throw it out. Horrible, the crust must be made with cardboard.

    6. Tammy Czelder on October 10, 2017 3:40 pm

I’m gonna go against the grain (see what I did there?) and say…I kinda dig it. Just had my first experience with a pizza of this type and I think it’s nice to have this option. I rather liked the buttery taste of whatever the non cheese item I was eating. I’d purchase this again to have in the freezer for those days when things just don’t work out to make a real dinner.

      • Alisa Fleming on October 15, 2017 10:05 am

        Whoops, it’s called American Flatbread.

    8. Sarah on October 16, 2016 10:57 pm

I get one of these pizzas about once a year, which is apparently how long it takes me to forget how awful it is. Got one today after getting home from a trip and not having much to cook. The crust, if it can even be called crust, ruins the entire pizza. There’s just nothing to it, and it tastes like what I can only imagine cardboard tastes like. I’ve tried baking it too long, too short, exactly what the directions recommend, and it doesn’t seem to matter. It comes out the same every time – bendy and chewy, in all of the ways you don’t want your food to reflect those words. Also, now that I’ve been eating nut cheese, I forgot how much the coagulated oil version of cheese grosses me out and gives me a tummy ache. I think I’m going to put a piece of the box on my fridge and write “never again!” on it so I’ll have a reminder. I miss pizza as much as the next dairy free person, but putting myself through another one of these is some sort of twisted self-torture.

Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your very honest review!

      • Joe on August 30, 2019 10:10 am

I think you should work on your oven techniques. If you convection cook it at 9 minutes they turn out great. And with no pan under it. Just a catch pan one rack down beneath it. Then the crust won’t be hard as a rock. I also add finally chopped red bell peppers on top. It’s Yum Yum.

    9. Sean M on September 27, 2016 3:56 pm

We tired the Daiya pizza, and it was probably to grossest thing gluten-free that I have had to date. Even our dog spit the crust out. Would definitely never recommend this pizza.

    14. Jeff Gully on January 24, 2016 9:38 pm

i think it should be pointed out that they taste like… make that worse than… a $2 frozen pizza. I’m not a fan of cheese substitutes but regardless of that the rest of the this pizza was just awful… the sauce is not noticeable and the crust is like cardboard. Amy’s pizzas are MUCH better.

      • Alisa Fleming on January 25, 2016 3:51 pm

Glad there is another that suits your tastes Jeff and thanks for sharing your own review!

      • Amber on September 27, 2016 5:42 am

I hate to leave a bad review for an allergy / cruelty free company since I believe in the mission, but I tend to agree with you Jeff. I tried the supreme and was turned off by the creamy cheese texture – I’ll take Amy’s “no cheese” pizza over this any day!
