After taking on an autoimmune protocol, Brittany Fuisz dusted off her Cordon Bleu chef whites, and created Malibu Flax Mylk. She was a long-time user of flax in all forms, and wanted to make a flaxmilk that met her needs. She succeeded with a dairy-free milk beverage that’s actually quite different from anything else on the market.
Malibu Flax Mylk Takes a Very Seedy Approach to Dairy-Free Milk
Today is World Plant Milk Day, so I wanted to share a dairy-free milk beverage that’s a little special. Flaxmilk is a bit elusive as is, but Malibu Flax Mylk takes things an even bigger step from the norm by using the whole seed.
Typically, flaxmilk is made with a flax oil and water emulsion. But this brand uses organic ground flax seed, husk and all. According to Brittany, this gives it “a nice, subtle but nutty flavor.” It also lends 3 grams of fiber and 1800mg of Omega 3s to each serving.

This milk tastes terrible, like dressing chalky oil
I’m a gluten free vegan, so I tried a lot of vegan products to find out, which products I can add to my daily diet for nutrition. I read about health benefits of flaxseeds so, I tried to use this flax milk for cooking my meals, and it was a mistake. It ruined the taste, of any meal I added it to, and I couldn’t figure out why, until I tried drinking a glass and it tasted terrible. It was mix of chalky feeling on my touch along with this gooey oil feeling as well, so try to imagine a chalky oily feeling on your tongue and it made me gag and want to throw up. In addition, this milk caused me terrible stomach upset, bloating, and diarrhea, which I never experienced from other flax milks I tried. The milk was not expired and I never had an issue with other plant milks or even other flavored flax milks i had in the past, so I don’t know what’s wrong with this milk and it was complete fail for my body. In addition, this product is overpriced as well, since you only get 32 ounces for 5 bucks at my local store, where you can 48 ounces and more of other milks for half the price.
Love the taste
I’ve used the FLAX+OAT Malibu Mylk and I love the taste. I use it in tea and coffee. I look forward to trying the unsweetened FLAX MYLK.
Excellent
Fresh taste, and the best flavor of all that I tried
Makes really good oatmeal
It boils without scorching and adds a healthy vanilla taste without added sugar.
chalky
I was really hoping this would be good but it was too chalky tasting. Could not finish the bottle sorry.
Love the Vanilla unsweeten
My new favorite product..add a frozen banana with some stevia…plus flaxseed itself…its too delicious
