Must Love Bananas is the New Big Kahuna of Vegan Nice Cream

By Alisa Fleming on February 3, 2021 Dairy-Free Ice Cream Reviews, Product Reviews

One of the original nice cream pints is making waves with a total brand shake up. Hakuna Banana is now Must Love Bananas, and we think the new name is pretty fitting. Although their frozen desserts come in several flavors, they are banana-forward. And for the most part, Must Love Bananas is sweetened solely with fruit.

In addition to rebranding, they’ve tweaked their formula just a little bit. But for the most part, the consumer reviews below for Hakuna Banana carry over to the Must Love Bananas pints (they also make chocolate covered bars!). Be sure to leave your own unbiased rating and review below if you try any of them!

    Banilla

    Allergen Note*

I asked Hakuna Banana about allergen protocols, and they sent the following response:

We are managed on equipment that sometimes processes milk, wheat, tree nuts, eggs, soy, corn, and peanuts, so if your audience has severe allergies, it would be safer for them to not consume our product.

But when I specifically asked again about their cleaning processes, they responded:

Our plant has a strict policy of thoroughly washing before and after each production run of our products!

Bananas with frozen choco pieces. I added spices and things to mine, but could have done this without buying personally.

I was looking for a more low cal alternative to the normal dairy ice creams. Tried the choco chip and found it to be delicious. I love bananas and chocolate combo.

I had the cashew cookie dough: it just tastes like bananas with the occasional chocolate chip. Nice texture, & not a bad flavor, but way below my expectations, based on the flavor name.

Nutty. Almond butter. Cashews. With chewy date bites. Banana and almond butter combo is always killer.

Its my first and never again. This is not even reminding of anything “creamy.” Just crusty frozen banana mash.

I’ve only tried the strawberry flavor but it’s fantastic! Looking forward to the others. Has a banana taste for sure but it’s not overwhelming at all.
