Navitas Organics Superfood Powders add Instant Plant-Based Nutrition

Dairy-free dieters seem to take more interest in nutritional boosters than your average consumer. Which is why I wanted to provide a write-up on Navitas Organics Superfood Powders.

I am seriously impressed with the innovative approach Navitas Naturals has taken in the supplement arena. They are creating freeze-dried, single-ingredient, organic superfood powders from various healthy foods, many of which are quite exotic by normal standards.

Navitas Naturals Superfood Powders (Review) - Maca, Acai, Lucuma, Green Coffee, Pomegranate and More!

Navitas Naturals Superfood Powders add Instant Plant-Based Nutrition

I’ve only sampled a few of the Navitas Organics Superfood Powders, one being the Coconut Water. When I showed it to a good friend, she laughed and questioned, “Dehyrdated water?” I hadn’t thought about it that way, and had to agree that it was a bit of an oxymoron. Joking aside, I’m not a fan of coconut water at all (no, not even “that” brand). So I can’t really weigh in on the quality and taste of this product. However, the Pomegranate Powder was right up my alley.

    Pomegranate Powder

Un-Beetable Sugar-Free, Dairy-Free SmoothieThis “Persian Superfood” is lightly sweet but very tangy – a reflection of its high vitamin C content. In terms of consistency, I thought it blended rather seamlessly into smoothies and puddings. Nonetheless, I only used 1 tablespoon per serving (the package states 2 tablespoons per serving), which was my lip-puckering limit.

The Pomegranate Powder is also a brilliant, but slightly pale pink color. This provides a visually appealing addition to recipes for both kids and adults. I love it in smoothies, like my Super Beet Smoothie Recipe (pictured at right). It goes extremely well with various berries, but here I paired it with banana and roasted beets for a naturally sweet and nutrient-packed drink.

Pomegranate Power BitesI’m still experimenting with this powder in other recipes. The Pomegranate Bites I made were a bit too tart. I attempted 1 tablespoon per serving (about 5 bites), and they were pretty tasty, but the aftertaste was just too potent.

Nonetheless, the potential is really there. I think the Pomegranate Powder would be a delicious healthy addition to many no bake treats, including homemade or melted down chocolate.

    Acai Powder

The other product that intrigued me was the Acai Powder. On its own, the flavor is a bit blah, but it really comes alive in recipes. I used it to make Julie Morris’s Acai Fudge, which is made with just acai powder, dates, and cocoa butter. It was surprisingly chocolaty, even though there wasn’t any cocoa powder or whole chocolate added.

Navitas Naturals Acai PowderThe acai powder also adds a deep and mellow flavor to smoothies. It helped me tame a smoothie that was just a bit too sweet (my bananas were very ripe!).

The acai powder is very light and fluffy, but it has almost a granular-sized texture. So it did leave little acai specks in my smoothie. But that didn’t interfere with the smooth consistency, and it added a nice purple hue. I used just 1/2 tablespoon of the powder in the smoothie shown here.

If you like healthy adventures, then this line up of organic, freeze-dried “superfoods” should be on your sampling list. We loved the versatility of the pomegranate powder and the unique tangy flavor it provided to smoothies. Since all varieties are so finely ground, they work well in different types of recipes and quick no bake goodies for an instant nutritional boost.
