Rising Moon Organics Vegan Frozen Ravioli and Gnocchi - Six Dairy-Free Varieties!

Rising Moon goes out of their way to create not one, but FIVE varieties of vegan frozen ravioli. As well as a bonus gnocchi! Thus far, I’ve only sampled the Creamy Artichoke and Olive, but am intrigued to try more. I was quite impressed with what I tasted. Just a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt was all that was needed to let this vegan frozen ravioli shine.

The filling was quite flavorful, though I wouldn’t have guessed artichoke had I not known the variety already. It almost tasted like a quality mushroom ravioli. That said, I thought the filling to pasta ratio was a touch skimpy. The thick layers took much longer to cook through than the package indicated (12 minutes to get to al dente vs the 8 minutes stated on the instructions). Even so, it made for more of a dense pasta experience than I expected. Still quite good, but for the price, I like a bit more rich filling.

Rich in flavor

Now curious to trial their other selections, I found these delightful pasta pillows to be rich in flavor, needing only a drizzle of good olive oil or a light sauce. My only complaint was the ratio of pasta to filling – the very thick noodles took much longer to cook than the package stated and I was rewarded for my time with less artichoke and olive goodness than expected.
