Stomach problems

Rated 3 out of 5

I ran out of it like a week and half ago and just bought some more and honestly I’m getting bloated and stomach pain issues. I swear this happened the first time I started drinking it too but I blamed it on something else. Any chance anybody else experience this? I’m lactose and I thought maybe it has a milk derivative but it’s vegan/plant based so much for that…Not sure if it’s potentially one of the ingredients.

Excellent, affordable protein drink.

Slightly thicker than chocolate milk, but really comparable to other protein drinks. Taste is great and it’s very cost efficient. Just don’t try using it in any recipes or with oatmeal… it’s not milk, it’s a protein drink!

too thick

Too thick, like heavy cream. and flavor is to strong. My store has not had the real original (red container) for two weeks. Since they changed the box color a few years ago and this black box said “original” on it I figured they simply changed the color again. Ugggh! was I UNHAPPILY surprised. If the real original isn’t back in my store tomorrow I’m going to a new store.

Way too thick and taste is different. My local stores no longer have original original Silk (lately of the red container). Why? Is this going to be New Coke?

I just had it last night, unsweetened and loved it. I’ve been a fan for a while with the 10% chocolate milk but now seeing this fir the first time I am totally sold. Love the 20% plant based protein, a total win win for Silk! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ absolutely!!

Good Taste

I got the Regular Ultra, and would’ve gotten the Unsweet Ultra if it were at my Safeway. I usually drink Regular or Unsweet, and this knocks the two out of the park in terms of creaminess. It’s around the same in terms of taste. I would consider purchasing it regularly if it maintained the same price as Regular Silk (right now it’s on promotion for $3.50 like the un-Ultra version). If it stayed promotion price, I would continue to purchase it for my coffee/tea/hot chocolate, but not for where I drink most of soy milk – with oats, cereals, and avocado and banana dessert as I don’t want to drink so much soy protein isolate. So I would probably have both the Ultra and Regular.

The Original

Saw this at local grocery store, decided to try it.
The texture is creamy/thick. The soy taste is stronger in the Ultra Protein version than Silk’s standard soy milk versions, but it also has more than double the protein per cup, supplied as soy protein, so not a surprise.
I drank it plain, added to breakfast oats.
The flavor is not bad, but I can’t say I love it, either!
I like the extra protein content.
I think it may be a flavor that grows on me, so I will likely buy it again.

When I saw silk ultra unsweet at Walmart. I didn’t know what silk drink was. I decided to get it and try it and I was impressed and surprised by the way it tasted and the way the texture was. I love the way it tastes. It’s real good. the thing that I love about it is that it has a lot of vitamins and it’s natural it doesn’t have artificial coloring. I will say this is one of the drinks that I will have from now on.

Cross-Contamination Still an Issue

Years ago we relied heavily on Silk’s commitment to have dedicated process facilities – to keep soy separate from nuts and other allergens. With their increased popularity and profitability it is really too bad they abandoned that commitment: “Produced in a facility that also processes tree nuts.”
