Updated September 2022! Trader Joe’s doesn’t want to call it ice cream, but for clarity sake, we’d describe this expanding product line as dairy-free oat milk ice cream. The base of Trader Joe’s Non-Dairy Oat Frozen Dessert is made with oats, water, and coconut oil instead of dairy cream. But it’s still a creamy, churned mixture that’s packed into pints and frozen. And now it’s available in three flavors: Strawberry with Almond Brittle, Okie Dokie (seasonal), and the latest, Very Chocolatey with Fudge Brownies.

We’ve added notes for all three flavors of Trader Joe’s Oat Milk Ice Cream. But please do leave your own unbiased rating and review below once you buy and try either flavor!
Very Chocolatey with Fudge Brownies
This rich flavor needs little explanation. It’s a chocolate oatmilk ice cream littered with vegan fudge brownie pieces. The photo is from @traderjoeslist on Instagram.
Ingredients: oat base (water, oats), fudge brownies (unbleached flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, brown sugar, water, cocoa processed with alkali, palm oil, tapioca starch, sea salt, natural flavor, xanthan gum), tapioca syrup, coconut oil, dextrose, invert sugar, cocoa processed with alkali, agave syrup, maltodextrin, organic caramel color, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, pink salt, natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, pea protein, carob bean gum. contains wheat.
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 260 calories, 11g fat, 39g carbs, 3g fiber, 22g sugars (includes 21g added sugars), 2g protein.*
Okie Dokie (limited edition / seasonal)
This flavor of Trader Joe’s Oat Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert is inspired by a New Zealand treat called hokey pokey, which is made with vanilla ice cream and studded with bits of honeycomb toffee. The oat base of this dairy-free ice cream is light, fluffy, and perfectly creamy, but it doesn’t have the vanilla flavor that Trader Joe’s boasts. Instead, it’s quite sweet with notes of coconut and a tasty caramel swirl. Crunchy, spongey toffee bits add some extra interest to the texture.
Ingredients: oat base (water, oats), tapioca syrup, caramel swirl (sugar, water, glucose syrup, caramel syrup [invert sugar, caramel, xanthan gum], coconut oil, caramel color, pink salt, natural flavors, pectin, ascorbic acid), sponge candy bits (sugar, rice syrup, coconut oil, sodium bicarbonate, molasses, natural flavor), coconut oil, dextrose, invert sugar, chicory root extract (inulin), agave syrup, maltodextrin, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, pink salt, natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, pea protein, carob bean gum, vanilla beans. contains coconut.*
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 260 calories, 10g fat, 45g carbs, 4g fiber, 28g sugars (includes 27g added sugars), <1g protein.*
Strawberry with Almond Brittle & Candied Strawberries
This is a soft, lightly creamy oat milk ice cream that’s relatively easy to scoop. The ice cream itself doesn’t contain any real strawberries, which might be why the flavor isn’t as purely intense. But the candied strawberries help. The brittle adds nice texture, but isn’t an overly sweet brittle.
Ingredients: oat base (water, oats), tapioca syrup, coconut oil, dextrose, invert sugar, chicory root extract (inulin), agave syrup, almond brittle (cane sugar, almonds), candied strawberries (strawberries, glucose syrup, sugar), maltodextrin, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, pink salt, sunflower lecithin, color added (red beet juice, annatto extract, citric acid [to maintain color]), pea protein concentrate, carob bean gum, natural flavor. contains almond, coconut.*
Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 260 calories, 10g fat, 39g carbs, 5g fiber, 22g sugars (includes 20g added sugars), 1g protein.*

One of the best vegan ice creams I’ve found
Reminds me of a classic strawberry milkshake flavor but with nuts mixed in for a surprise crunch.
Read ingredients before buying
It’s a weird pink color and taste like a 50s color and taste. the taste is awful. There’s nothing healthy about this non dairy product just look at the ingredients
