A Spanish Latte, or Café con Leche, is Spain’s version of strong coffee with hot milk. This recipe kicks things up with a rich chocolate infusion, zesty orange, and warm cinnamon. And it’s dairy free! I couldn’t think of a better way to kick the week off.
In terms of Spanish origins, the flavors are a bit more reminiscent of Mexico. And some might even call this coffee drink mocha-worthy. But it still beckons to the smooth, flavorful richness of a good strong latte.
This recipe was shared with us by Blue Diamond Growers, so naturally they recommend using almond milk. But if nut allergies are a concern, you can substitute a nut-free chocolate milk beverage. We’ve also added a couple more options to the recipe. And you can enjoy a beautiful sweet topper, like the one pictured below, with our complete Dairy-Free Whipped Topping Guide.

Yum! With fall temperatures on the way, I love having a cozy, warm drink to take the chill off. This sounds like the ticket!
I can drink coffee any time of day and this sounds amazing! It’s a bonus that I have all these ingredients at home (but I’ll be using Ripple chocolate milk). Can’t wait to make this.
I bet Ripple would be great in this!
I’ve never heard of a spanish latte before but am sure glad I know what it is now! Love the cinnamon. orange and chocolate combo! Sounds delicious!
I’m not a big coffee drinker, but every once in a while I’ll treat myself to a hot, chocolatey cup of joe on a weekend. This looks so perfect for me. I think it’s going to be part of my brunch this Sunday!
Yes, I think this should be your next coffee indulgence Dianne.
