Bhakti Chai Concentrates are a new generation of convenient, high-quality brews for making dairy-free tea lattes at home. And to be completely honest, they kicked the pants off Starbucks chai tea lattes. Not to mention, I didn’t have to worry about milk cross-contamination by busy baristas!
Tasting Notes for Bhakti Chai Concentrates
These are pure spiced tea concentrates that can be poured into your favorite dairy-free milk beverage, hot or cold. As I sipped, my mind wandered to many other delicious ways to enjoy these spicy brews. But for now, I’ll give you the lowdown on their taste and performance in dairy-free chai lattes.
Unsweetened Chai Concentrate
Bhakti describes these concentrates as “A blend of fiery spices, fresh pressed organic ginger and organic fair-trade certified black tea.” And that pretty much sums up how it tastes. Even when mixed 50/50 with milk beverage, as instructed, the spice infusion is deliciously intense and the ginger permeates with a warm heat. It was probably the best Chai tea latte I’ve ever tasted! I enjoyed it with Elmhurst cashew milk, which has just a smidgen of added sugar. And it was just sweet enough for me.
Ingredients: brewed tea (filtered water, organic fair trade black tea), organic fair trade ginger juice, organic spices.

Original Chai Concentrate
The Original has 13 grams of added sugar per serving, which is probably less than your average coffeehouse brew. Yet, it has a delightful sweetness that melds perfectly with unsweetened dairy-free milk beverage. The sugar does tame the spice and heat a little, so this might be the best option if you are ginger timid.

Nitro Straight Chai
At Expo West, I had the chance to try their new Nitro blend, which is a straight-up 50/50 infusion of their two chai concentrates. It was deliciously intense with spice, and was made for those of us who can’t get enough ginger.

What Others Are Saying ...
Love the Unsweetened
This is wonderful for a spicy, creamy morning beverage. I don’t typically add sweetener to my tea, so I like to stick to the unsweetened. It’s even great when diluted with boiling water for a simple chai tea.

I wish I liked the chai flavor. It seems to be exploding in every type of food. I need to get my taste buds on board.
Well, luckily there are many other flavors for you Megan 🙂
we love these chais (and that Elmhurst cashew milk – SO good!), I have a new one in the fridge now! I need to find the nitro, I think we’d enjoy that too!
I think you would LOVE it Kristina.
I am obsessed with chai drinks! I need to check this out.
You and me both Jen.
I need to try these!! I’m all about dairy-free lattes and not having to constantly worry about my barista
Same here!
I absolutely LOVE their chai concentrate. I tried it a couple of months ago and I don’t think I’ll ever buy another brand again.
Seriously, there is no going back!
What a great product! I love how it meets the needs of individuals with an array of dietary restrictions.
I’m loving this! Having the shelf stable version is terrific . I have a suspicion, though, that it won’t last long at my house. We all love chai.
They do pack a lot of servings in that carton, so at least it doesn’t run out too quickly 🙂
I have to admit, I do love a cup of chai tea. I’ll be looking for this locally.
I hope you find it soon Leslie!
I think I’d enjoy the original, but my mom would love the Nitro. I’ll have to check with our local Whole Foods.
Yes, I’m not sure when/if the Nitro will be in stores (or if it will be wholesale only), but the concentrates should be in Whole Foods.
This is exciting! I can’t wait to try these. I love chai flavors…especially the extra ginger.
Then you will LOVE this 🙂
