Daiya Coconut Cream Yogurt Alternatives Make Nutrition a Priority (DISCONTINUED)

Daiya Coconut Cream Yogurt Alternatives have been discontinued. For options that are currently available, see our Dairy-Free Yogurt Reviews section.

Millions of people are on the hunt for their holy grail of healthy dairy-free yogurt, and Daiya Coconut Cream Yogurt Alternative is vying for consideration. Daiya’s initial dairy-free yogurt line didn’t quite make the consumer cut, but they’ve completely reformulated for taste and nutrition. They added coconut cream for a better consistency, upped the natural ingredients, and reduced the sugar.

“Consumers are making more mindful choices when it comes to food and we know that sugar reduction is a top priority for them,” said Michael Lynch, Interim CEO at Daiya, in a statement. So they reformulated their yogurt to contain 50 percent less sugar than the average vegan yogurt. Each single-serve contains just 3 to 9 grams of sugars. And they are sweetened solely with cane sugar – no alternative sweeteners added!

Daiya Coconut Cream Yogurt Alternatives Make Nutrition a Priority

We got the chance to try Daiya Duets when they were first released, which combine their coconut cream yogurt with crunchy granola. Those flavors are just a little different than this core line of coconut cream yogurt, but they use the same ingredients and base. And we were were impressed with the pleasing taste and creamy yogurt consistency. We will update with our own rating and review when we try these specific flavors. And you can leave your own rating and review below to help others too!

    Plain

This is the lowest sugar, no frills option, and it can be bought in a single-serve cup for a 16-ounce multi-serve tub.

    Peach

    What Others Are Saying ...

I liked the original ones better

    Rated 3 out of 5
    January 12, 2022

I don’t like coconut. I felt the original ones were higher in nutrition. The pea protein helped me feel 10 years younger. The coconut just dilutes that effect. I also like the original, because it was like jelly – but a dairy-based one. It was so easy to eat, due to falling onto the spoon (which really helped when I was tired) and kept the container clean. I just feel really bad that I didn’t support the yogurts more, but the issue was the high price and that they brought in the coconut line – at least have both, so people can choose. It made me so sad that it wasn’t selling like the others, so I couldn’t buy it back when I appreciated it. I thought it would be cheaper to make it myself, but it didn’t work. I wish they bring the original back, but I bet they’re hurt and won’t and I won’t blame them.

I don't like the sugar levels

    Rated 3 out of 5
    January 12, 2022

I really hope they redo this yogurt to not have the sugar so high and just make everyone happy with a round 3 of it. High pea protein, less coconut, etc. I really like these yogurts, but lower the price point – it shouldn’t be almost $2 per yogurt pre-inflation.

Even with these issues, it’s still be the best yogurt I ever had and with these changes would be the best ever – beating itself by a milestone.

    Horrible after taste

    Rated 1 out of 5
    December 2, 2020

I wish I would’ve taken the time to read the ingredients list. Had I read the list, I would have passed on the yogurt due to the chicory root extract alone. That’s probably the main culprit of that horrible after taste.

    Best dairy-free yogurt I've tried!

    Rated 5 out of 5
    August 11, 2020

Very thick and creamy, and the flavor is great if you enjoy coconut (which I do). The tang is right on for a yogurt. I love that it’s packed with protein and low in sugar. I don’t mind the fat content, because the protein and fat are super satisfying. I’;m not hungry for hours after one of these. So thankful to have found a yogurt that I can digest AND enjoy!
