Hälsa Oatgurt is a Dairy-Free Yogurt Drink with Scandinavian Roots

The cool name of Hälsa beckons to the founders’ native land. But they’ve called the U.S. home for over 20 years, and wanted to create a drinkable yogurt that shared their natural food beliefs. Hälsa Oatgurt is made with organic Scandinavian whole grain oats, live cultures, prebiotics, and organic fruit juices. It has no added sugar, no dairy, and not a drop of anything artificial. Yet I must say that it tastes pretty darn good.

All of the flavors we taste-tested had a very thick, creamy, smoothie-like consistency. They are very smooth and drinkable on their own, but also blend well into homemade smoothies. They are all fruit-forward in flavor, but have a very slight “oat” finish.

    Strawberry

This was hands down our favorite variety. It had a very fresh strawberry flavor that was just sweet enough. In fact, the sweet-tart taste made it a bit of a treat!

Halsa Oatgurt is a drinkable dairy-free yogurt made with oats and fruit juices. Rich in prebiotics and probiotics Ingredients: fermented organic whole grain oats, organic strawberry and apple juice blend, pea protein, organic flavors, live cultures (bifidobacterium lactis, lactobacillus rhamnosus GG).*

    Mango Pear

This was the sweetest of the three and tasted a bit more apple and orange than mango and pear. But the four fruit blend makes a delicious, comforting melange overall.

    Blueberry

A touch less sweet than the other two, I liked this flavor for the morning. The slightly subdued taste was pleasantly sweet with a touch of blueberry tartness.

    Concord Grape

This is a newer flavor that we haven’t tried yet!

    So drinkable

I’m not usually a fan of drinkable yogurt, but as I noted in my review, both my husband and I really liked these. They’re somewhat thick and smoothie-like, but not “yogurt-y.” We thought they hit the sweet spot in flavor, letting the fruit shine.

We left it out at room temperature before realizingredients it said keep refrigerated. Ingredients seem ok to leave out and it’s sealed. Is it safe to consume? Also how long past expiration date?

Oh goodness, I don’t remember but I think it does need to be refrigerated. It is a cultured product, like yogurt, so it typically requires refrigeration. I would double check with the company before considering consumption -> https://halsafoods.com/
