Harmless Harvest Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks are Just Plain Coconuts

Drinkable dairy-free yogurts seem to be popping up everywhere, but almost all of them are quite high in sugar and loaded with additives. Fortunately, Harmless Harvest Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks provide a simple solution for “clean” food seekers. These basic beverages are made with a blend of organic coconut water and coconut meat from Thai Young coconuts, and cultured with seven live and active cultures. They offer an unsweetened version, and two fruity flavors with just a touch of organic cane sugar.

Harmless Harvest launched their yogurt drinks in 8 ounce sizes and limited distribution last year. This year, they’ve changed the packaging, streamlined the varieties, and expanded their distribution.

    More Allergen Info

Harmless Harvest shares the following information about their allergen processes.

This product contains coconut as the only major allergen. It’s processed at a non-dairy facility that also processes soy and tree nuts. The facility follows rigorous manufacturing practices with thorough cleaning and testing to ensure no cross-contamination occurs.

    What is Cultured Dextrose?

Cultured dextrose is a food additive that’s used in many “natural” foods to inhibit the growth of undesirable bacteria and mold in food. It is prepared via the fermentation of milk or sugar. Harmless Harvest states that coconut is the only allergen in their products, so it should be prepared from sugar for this product. If you want to avoid this ingredient, they don’t use it in Harmless Harvest Dairy-Free Yogurt Cups.

You should never rely on ingredient and allergen statements alone if dealing with a severe food allergy.
