I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola: Peanut- and Tree Nut-Free (DISCONTINUED)

By Alisa Fleming on November 1, 2014 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

I.M. Healthy has gone out of business. For allergy-friendly granola, we recommend Flax4Life or Bakery on Main.

I’ve received quite a few comments from parents where their child’s school has banned nuts from the classroom, or their child has multiple allergies, and they need some alternatives for snacks. Luckily, I can give a thumbs up to I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola, which I recently trialed at a food allergy conference.

I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola is from the popular SoyNut Butter company. They’ve done a really tasty thing! They baked soynut butter (made with whole non-GMO roasted soybeans) right on the granola. I love granola made this way, it has a nutty infusing, the mini clusters are more substantial, and overall tastier and more fulfilling.

Tasting Notes for I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola

Naturally, I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola isn’t suitable for soy allergies. But at last report, they had a dairy-, egg-, gluten-, peanut-, sesame-, and tree nut-free facility.

    Apple

The Apple flavor of I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola was reported by the company as a fan favorite, and I could taste why. The warm earthy flavor from the soynut butter was nicely complimented with little dried apple bits that are almost like candy. That said, the mix isn’t overly sweet, but just right. Although, I do wish that they added cinnamon.

    Blueberry & Raisins and Cranberries

I asked my friend if her nut-free household wanted to sample the other two flavors that I had, the Blueberry and with Raisins and Cranberries. She said her preteen and teen devoured them in nothing flat. In the end, they were voted as delicious!

We haven’t tried the All Natural as of yet, though I’m actually betting would be my favorite. I typically like the lowest sugars and the ability to customize to my mood.

The Facts on I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola

Certifications: I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola is Certified Kosher Parve and has a new Gluten-Free Certification. Though it doesn’t have an official non-GMO stamp, they do use Non-GMO roasted soybeans.

Dietary Notes: By ingredients, I.M. Healthy Awesome Granola is dairy-free / non-dairy, egg-free, gluten-free, peanut-free, tree nut-free, vegan / plant-based, and vegetarian. Nonetheless, verify on the label and check with the company on their manufacturing processes for all varieties if potential allergen cross-contamination is an issue for you. Processes, ingredients, and labeling are subject to change at any time for any company / product.
