Lake Champlain Plant-Based Truffle Bars let you Indulge without Dairy

    0
By Alisa Fleming on March 24, 2023 Dairy-Free Chocolate Reviews, Product Reviews

Over the years, Lake Champlain has quietly added more vegan chocolates to their collection. But this year, they’re making some noise with a full line of retail non-dairy chocolate treats. Lake Champlain Plant-Based Truffle Bars are decadent sweets crafted without dairy or soy, that feature bold flavors from simple organic ingredients. The initial launch includes five diverse varieties: raspberry, sea salt caramel, cinnamon, peppermint, and cold brew.

Lake Champlain Plant-Based Truffle Bars Impress in 5 Dairy-Free Flavors

They might be labeled as “bars,” but each package of Lake Champlain Plant-Based Truffle Bars actually contains two sizable squares. Each square is a multi-bite treat of dark or “milk” chocolate with a very soft and thick filling. The milky chocolate uses both oat and rice for a creamier taste and mouthfeel. The fillings are unique and flavorful, but more like a cross between a caramel and classic truffle consistency.

    Delicious chocolate

I have always been a dark chocolate fan with caramel as a close second so I tried the dark chocolate peppermint bar and the oat milk chocolate caramel bar. The peppermint bar was spectacular with a crisp dark chocolate shell covering a soft creamy peppermint center. So yummy! The caramel in the caramel bar was the best dairy free caramel I’ve ever tasted and the shell tasted just like milk chocolate to me. If you like milk chocolate-you will love it. I will definitely be buying the dark chocolate flavors in the future and hoping they put out my dream bar of dark chocolate with caramel!

My favorites were the Raspberry and Peppermint, which are both dark chocolate, but I really liked the Cinnamon (so unique!) and Salted Caramel, too. The truffle squares aren’t huge, but they’re each very rich and satisfying, and you get two per package, which is enough. I’m not a coffee fan, so the Cold Brew wasn’t one I would try again, but I think mocha fans would really enjoy it.
