By Alisa Fleming on March 4, 2023 Food and Grocery, In The News, News, Popular Food Guides

Updated for 2023! A mere decade ago, we were clamoring for any kind of dairy-free Easter chocolate. Now there are dozens of dairy-free chocolate bunnies available, but we still want more. We want alternatives to Cadbury Creme Eggs! Guess what? They’re here. And there is more than one. Many more. Some are sold online, a few are sold in stores, and there are options worldwide. This round-up of dairy-free chocolate cream eggs and filled eggs includes goodies in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., the rest of Europe, and Australia.

23 Dairy-Free & Vegan Alternatives to Cadbury Creme Eggs

Allergen Notes: All items listed below were dairy-free by ingredients at the time of our review, but ingredients are subject to change at any time. We have noted manufacturers that we know process milk chocolate in the same facility with an asterisk (*). But all products are at some degree of risk for allergen cross contamination. If you are concerned about potential cross contamination of an allergen, always contact the company to discuss their ingredient sourcing and allergen protocols before purchasing. Only you can decide what is safe for your needs.

Gluten Note: Most of the following are gluten-free by ingredients, but contact the company if potential cross contamination in production is a concern for you. Some of these chocolatiers do handle gluten in their facility.

The Closest Treats to Dairy-Free Cadbury Creme Eggs

We won’t say these are trying to be exactly like Cadbury Creme Eggs, but they have a similar vibe. And you might just think some of these dairy-free and vegan versions are better!

    Mummy Meagz Chuckie Eggs

The famous Chuckie Egg has taken Europe’s dairy-free community by storm. It’s a vegan chocolate crème egg with a sweet creamy inside, and a gooey ‘yolk’ at its heart. It’s one of the closest things to dairy-free Cadbury Creme Eggs that we’ve seen! And they’ve recently reformulated it. These rich eggs are now made with creamy oatmilk chocolate.

You can also order her cookbook, Sweet + Salty, to learn how she makes such decadent fillings!
