Updated for 2024! We are now 15 years into our annual Dairy-Free & Vegan Chocolate Easter Bunny Round-up, and have about THIRTY chocolatiers to share. We started this post with dairy-free chocolate bunnies as the focus, but chocolate eggs have been overtaking the Easter chocolate scene lately. We also have chocolate chicks, lambs, and truffles to share! And these days we get to pick between dark, semi-sweet, “milk,” and white chocolate options. Aren’t we spoiled? Vegans, gluten-free / casein-free dieters, lactose intolerant consumers, and even those with multiple food allergies and gluten-free needs can literally choose from dozens of cute and tasty Easter chocolate options. But you might want to hop on over to place your order now. I’m guessing that many of these chocolatiers will sell out before the holiday arrives.
The BIG Dairy-Free Chocolate Easter Bunny & More Round-Up
The following guide includes the vegan and dairy-free chocolate bunnies and Easter treats available in North America (U.S. and many in Canada). For options elsewhere, see our Australia, Europe & New Zealand Dairy-Free Easter Chocolate Round-Up.
Allergen Notes: All items listed below were dairy-free by ingredients at the time of our review, but ingredients are subject to change at any time. We have noted manufacturers that we know process milk chocolate in the same facility with an asterisk (*). But all products are at some degree of risk for allergen cross contamination. If you are concerned about potential cross contamination of an allergen, always contact the company to discuss their ingredient sourcing and allergen protocols before purchasing. Only you can decide what is safe for your needs.
Gluten Note: Most of the following are gluten-free by ingredients, but contact the company if potential cross contamination in production is a concern for you. Some of these chocolatiers do handle gluten in their facility.

Moo Free Big Organic Chocolate Eggs & Bunnies
This is actually an English chocolatier, but they do ship their delicious, big, hallow eggs to the U.S., too. I’ve tried one variety, and it was sweet, milky deliciousness. This year they’re really focusing their product line on the eggs, with new Rocky Road and Strawberry Sundae flavors (each with vegan marshmallows), and Easter egg hunt kit, and caramel mini eggs. But they do still have their bunny bar available.

Lindt Dark Chocolate Easter Bunnies
This is one of those “accidentally vegan” treats. I really don’t think the people at Lindt had non-dairy as their goal, especially since many of their dark chocolate bars do contain milk. However, the Lindt Dark Chocolate Gold Bunnies that we spotted in the U.S. AND Canada, were made without dairy ingredients.

Thank you for including Little Vegan Treats! We’re so excited to be able to bring so many goodies in for our fellow Canadians:)
And we’re so happy you’ve created this list to help people navigate ❤️
Thank you for this round up! It can be tricky to find a variety in Canada, but my small business, Little Vegan Treats, has a great selection, sourced locally and from the UK & US, and we ship across Canada! If it’s ok to post here.
That’s great! We’ve added your shop!
I am looking at ordering easter chocolate for my 9 year old grandson. He has the following allergies. Nut, dairy and soy. Is it possible to order easter bunnies or eggs without those allergens in them. Where are you located and do you deliver to the Belle River area outside of Windsor Ontario. Thank you
Hi Judy, we don’t sell these ourselves, but you can get to the purchase sites using the links above in this post. Brands like No Whey and Olivia Chocolate do ship throughout Canada and are dairy, nut, and soy-free. I would order from one of them! Both have very special treats.
Great list! Love!
Thank you so much for updating this list. I do not have dairy allergies in my family, but I do like to send holiday treats to my daughter’s preschool. I always make sure they are allergen free since there is no way of telling what allergies the other children and staff may have.
That’s so wonderful that you consider others that way Amanda!

BEWARE!! Please beware when placing an order with the Chocolate Emporium Company. You are not offered a shipping offer and they placed an extra ten dollars on my total as the card was being processed. You have no way to stop it. I live within one of the areas that do not require air shipping (which there is a disclaimer for).
Oops…that should have read…You are not offered a shipping option. You do not see anything other than your “total” price.
