Chao Vegan Shreds Hit the Cheese Alternative Section in Two Varieties

If you’ve ever tried to shred Chao Vegan Cheese Slices, then you know it isn’t a very convenient option. You can technically hold the slices together and shred, but the shreds are short, and you have to ruin the whole lot of slices. Thankfully, Chao Creamery by Field Roast has finally come out with a solution. Chao Vegan Cheese Shreds have landed in two “ready to sprinkle” varieties: Creamy Original and Mexican.

Chao Vegan Cheese Shreds Reviews and Info - Dairy-Free Cheese Alternative in Two Flavors. Products by Field Roast / Chao Creamery

Chao Vegan Cheese Shreds Hit the Dairy-Free Section in Two Varieties

These shreds are nearly identical to their slices, but with a very slight formula modification, just like their vegan cheese blocks. And of course, they have a different look and function.

Once you buy and try Chao Vegan Cheese Shreds, be sure to leave your unbiased rating and review below! It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.

    Does not melt

Tried this for the first time on pizza. A little of it melted but most of it just got hard and crunchy. First and last time this 32 year vegan will buy it. Daiya has been our go to for a while so I guess we will stick with that.

    Surprisingly good

I am not a vegan( my daughter is)

and typically can’t say I like vegan cheese because it either doesn’t taste good or doesn’t melt or worse both. The shreds were creamy, good flavor and best melted like real cheese. Definitely would buy again.

Good Melt but Not Worth IT

It melts well but there are no nutrients for your efforts. I’d rather spend 80 calories on something that also provided something healthy not just imitation cheese.

    Worth trying for yourself

Had a pinch right out of the bag when I wasn’t hungry and impressed right away, had a mozzarella flavor and texture which I like. Heated some up over some fries and the flavor was still good, it doesn’t melt as well but that’s mostly typical with preserved cheese shreds so no big deal. Might be unfair for this but I only don’t give it a 5th star because of the corn and potato starches. Otherwise if that’s a usual and must have ingredient for all vegan shreds, I give it a 5 and that alone won’t stop me from buying more.

    Disappointed

    Read reviews and was hopeful.

Used it to make a quesadilla and was grossly disappointed. Tastes nasty like that. May be okay on casserole but at this price I’d rather do without

One of the best vegan cheeses I’ve tried. I ate it 5 days in a row, on a salad and it was the best week’s worth of salads I’ve had since going dairy free years ago!! Delicious!!

Tasty but molded in a weeks time

I thought the cheese melted well and was good. My lack of higher score is that a week later when I open the package again the cheese was already moldy. Too expensive for that!
