We recently updated our Kite Hill Almond Milk Yogurt post, and I realized that we didn’t have one up for their Greek-Style yogurt. It’s a very similar product, but Kite Hill Greek Style Yogurt boasts a richer consistency, higher fiber, and even more protein. It also comes in two unsweetened varieties for yogurt lovers who are shunning both dairy and sugar.
Kite Hill Greek Style Yogurt was launched near the end of 2017, and still hasn’t gained huge distribution. But you can find it at many natural food stores in the U.S.
Kite Hill Greek Style Yogurt is in the Thick of Dairy-Free Alternatives
Kite Hill’s Greek Style Yogurt is similar to their Classic Almond Yogurt line, but it’s free of xanthan gum, and contains tapioca starch and pectin for extra thickening power. Even though it’s higher in protein, but lower in fat, it doesn’t seem to contain any added protein. If you’ve tried this product, leave your rating and review below!

Awful sour taste
Taste changed. Sour taste is overwhelming and I will not buy this again.
Awful
I’m not one to leave reviews, but this product’s awfulness warrants a warning to other consumers. I was looking for alternatives to delicious coconut-based dairy yogurt, only because my doctor warned me of the high saturated fat content in coconut products. I thought Kite Hill’s almond milk and soy Greek-style yogurt would be an acceptable alternative. Not even close. This yogurt’s flavor is what I imagine latex paint would taste like, or maybe it was made with rancid almonds. I tried sweetening it with maple syrup and fruit, but the bitterness still came through so much that I washed all the yogurt off and just ate the fruit by itself. The rest of the yogurt went into the compost. I don’t think even the rats will eat it. I just hope it doesn’t kill the earthworms or plants. Maybe Kite Hill should hire more discerning taste-testers before sending such products to market.
Macros are great, taste is beyond awful
I wish I came here before buying. This stuff is, without exaggeration, the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. I bought it because I am so sick of the terrible macros (low protein, high sugar) in dairy free yogurt. I got very excited when I saw this and was so disgusted by it that I threw it out after trying to use it in a protein shake. It has such a rancid sour bite that I was certain it went bad and opened the second container but it was exactly the same.
Shame on Kite Hill for even letting this product hit the market.
Taste has changed in the last year
We have been buying and enjoying the almond plain yogurt for several years now. We ate with fruit and used it in many recipes. Within the last couple of months I’ve bought it twice and the taste had changed for the worse. The first time, I thought maybe it had gone bad. The second time the taste was still really awful. So I won’t be buying it anymore. I’m sad though; I was excited to see dairy free available at my local grocery store. 🙁
Terrible Aftertaste
I really wanted to like this because I miss eating diary Greek style yogurt. I purchased the Vanilla Unsweetened, the consistency is great but the taste is awful. I added agave & maple syrup along with a store brought granola that I love and none of this helped. I finished the container because I do not like throwing away food that hasn’t actually gone bad. This was bad before I purchased it so maybe I should have thrown it away anyway.
Horrible tasting yogurt
This has to be the worst dairy free yogurt I have ever tasted. I tried honey in it and it didn’t help a bit. Will not buy again nor recommend to others.
DO NOT BUY Kite Hill Greek Style Yogurt
I basically just made a donation to Kite Hill when I purchased this because it is inedible. Holy Cow- it tastes pasty as the other reviewers commented and was weirdly sour. Surely Kite Hill has testers before putting this on the market? If they do and those testers approved this, then they should be fired. I really wish I could get my money back.
Needs a lot of help to be palatable...
Holy mackerel, does this stuff taste awful on its own!!! The nutrients are just too good though. If you HEAVILY flavor it, it’s not too bad. I made a dip for some “chicken” nuggets with half yogurt, half Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Sauce and that was actually delicious!!!
So sour- this can’t be right
Omg I don’t understand how they can sell this, it’s insanely bad
So sour!
Awful! I understand that Greek yogurt is tangy, but this is a horrific combination of sour and chalky. Not edible!
