The day has finally arrived. Kraft cheese is officially entering the dairy-free industry. In November, they quietly distributed Kraft Not Cheese Slices in the Cleveland area to see how it performed. The trial run was a success, so they’ve decided to roll their plant-based cheese out nationwide. It’s now available in three varieties: American, Cheddar, and Provolone style.
Kraft Aims to Melt Dairy-Free Misconceptions with Not Cheese Slices
Early last year, Kraft and TheNotCompany (the producers of NotMilk) spun off a joint venture called The Kraft Heinz Not Company. Their combined goal is to use AI driven technology to develop plant-based products for the masses. Kraft Not Cheese Slices is their first official product release. According to the company, this cheese alternative is creamy and melty, just like dairy. But don’t worry, it’s made purely with dairy-free ingredients.
American Style
Ingredients: water, coconut oil, modified food starch, chickpea protein, maltodextrin, contains less than 2% of salt, carrageenan, sorbic acid as a preservative, natural flavor, lactic acid, annatto extract (color), yeast extract
