Carnation Almond Cooking Milk is a Creamy Dairy-Free Sub for Recipes (DISCONTINUED)

Unfortunately, we received official word from Nestle that Carnation Almond Cooking Milk has been discontinued. For a homemade version, try my Almond Milk Creamer Recipe without any added sweetener or flavoring. It works well! If you are looking for rich dairy-free cream alternatives you can buy for cooking, Silk Heavy Cream Alternative, Silk Half & Half, and Ripple Half & Half are still available.

The baking aisle is beginning to boom with dairy alternatives, but Nestle was one of the first on the scene with Carnation Almond Cooking Milk. They launched it as a “substitute for drinking milk in both sweet and savory recipes,” but it’s quite creamy and more versatile than this tagline suggests. Many readers report that it’s the perfect substitute for evaporated milk or light cream, and some even use it regularly in place of heavy cream. It might even be perfect for making dairy-free eggnog.

Carnation Almond Cooking Milk Review and Information - Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Vegan, Keto Substitute for Evaporated Milk, Light Cream, and More in Sweet & Savory Recipes

This dairy substitute comes in one neutral, multi-purpose variety. It’s intended to work well in everything from creamy soups and pot pies to cakes and puddings. This dairy-free cooking milk is also resealable, so you can use it as needed over the week. But be sure to refrigerate it once opened.

I have more details for you here, but once you’ve tried it, leave your rating and review below! It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.

I used Carnation Almond Cooking Milk the minute I saw it on the shelves. It’s the best in making sauces and baking. It was used consistently in my diet program. No other could compare. I am so sad that it is no longer available.

Please bring this AlmondCooking milk back as I’m allergic to milk and this was the answer to getting me back to baking! Now it’s so hard to bake or make my favorite candy or dishes for my family or friends! Or even make some of my dishes I make for my hubby! Please bring it back real soon!

The best cooking milk/heavy cream I’ve ever used!

This non dairy almond cooking milk is liquid gold!!! It 1000x better that any diary cooking milk or heavy creamer I’ve ever used. Since becoming plant based it can be so frustrating trying to find alternatives! This was one of my greatest finds of all

Times! Unfortunately all of the store in my area have discontinued it doesn’t some reason. Wegmans, Giant and Walmart. I’ve been online foe weeks trying to figure out how to purchase it. Even Amazon does not have it available. I’m wondering if the product is being discontinued indefinitely? That would be a huge blow to the non dairy community!!

So happy with this product. It has allowed me to be able to have many dishes I haven’t been able to have for many years due to a dairy allergy. Please try the pumpkin pie recipe using this product. It is fantastic! I wish more stores carried this product.

This has been a joy for cooking. I used it to make pumpkin pie, and no one could tell the difference. I substitute it for anything that calls for cream or evaporated milk. It does separate if used as a coffee creamer. I used to be able to find it at many stores. Now I only seem to find it at Walmart or Walmart.com. Does anyone know if I can freeze it? I tend to stock up because I fear it being discontinued.

    Response from Go Dairy Free

I’m not sure how well it would freeze since it does have ingredients that can separate from freezing. You can try one and see how it works out. They should have a decent shelf-life though.
