Chobani Oat Yogurt Cups Join the Dairy-Free Culture (DISCONTINUED)

    0
By Alisa Fleming on November 25, 2019 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

Unfortunately, Chobani has now discontinued all of their dairy-free yogurt product lines, including Chobani Oat Yogurt Cups. For options that are currently available, see our Dairy-Free Yogurt Reviews.

Last Updated in October 2021! The most popular Greek yogurt company in the U.S. is making their second foray into plant-based yogurt. Chobani Oat Yogurt Cups are batch-fermented with organic gluten-free oats and six live and active cultures. As a result, each serving contains billions of probiotics. Be sure to leave your rating and review below once you try them!

Chobani Oat Yogurt Cups Join the Dairy-Free Culture

Because oats are leaner than coconut, Chobani’s Oat Yogurt does contain more ingredients than their Non-Dairy Coconut Yogurt. Oats need a little more help to reach a creamy consistency. And take note that these are not coconut-free. Each flavor contains a little bit of coconut.

At our time of review, Chobani hadn’t listed the cultures in their Oat Yogurt Cups, but they might be the same as the ones in their Non-Dairy Coconut Yogurt. Those are l. acidophilus, l. bulgaricus, l. paracasei, s. thermophilus, bidus, and l. casei.

    Just what I wanted

I loved this stuff. I do not need dairy free, but I tend to have a hard time eating regular yogurt. Something about the traditional stuff just, is hard to swallow. If I eat it too fast I gag. I do not have this problem with any other food.
Anyways, this yogurt goes down like a dream. I thought the flavor was excellent. Have tried the blueberry pomegranate, the strawberry vanilla, the blueberry almond crumble (flip), and the strawberry granola crunch (flip). The blueberry flavors are superior to the strawberry in my opinion, but both were delicious. Sure it has a less dense texture than regular dairy yogurt, but you expect some difference when you use alternative ingredients. Oat milk is far thinner than regular milk, so not surprised by it’s consistency at all.

I think this yogurt is the next best to real yogurt on the market. Texture is like real yogurt and contain more protein than soy or almond ones I have tried.

I have only tasted the strawberry vanilla and it literally tasted like a spoonful of sugar.

I was looking forward to trying this. The texture was slimy and goopy. The taste was awful. I tried a second spoon and couldn’t imagine taking a third spoon of it. I’d rather stick to eating oatmeal with fresh fruit than eating this!

Like taste and texture. Would like to buy in larger sizes other than individual servings.

Taste was fine, but fell sick

I am vegetarian and only eat oat or almond yogurts. However when I tried this yogurt I didn’t feel good at all and ended up having stomach cramps.
I thought it was just that one time, but tried another one, same symptoms. There is something I do not tolerate in this yogurt, no idea what it is as I normally eat oat, soy, peas, and all types of vegetable proteins. I’ll stick with the other veggie yogurts, they have never made me sick.

    Not for Me

Maybe because I’m not a vegetarian/vegan and I am used to different flavors and textures… I don’t know. I couldn’t eat this. At all. 3 slimy over-sweet spoon fulls in and I was done. I really wanted to love it, I love all oat stuff, but this was not my thing at all. It may very well be the best most wonderful thing there is to someone else.
