Kite Hill Dips into Dairy-Free Queso, Ranch, French Onion, and More

    0
By Alisa Fleming on June 8, 2021 Dairy-Free Dip and Spread Reviews, Product Reviews

Updated September 2022! That $40 million infusion of cash from General Mills has paid off in innovation for Kite Hill. They upgraded their yogurt formula and added a protein line, expanded their selection cream cheese alternative flavors, and have also developed a full line of plant-based dips. In late 2019, they announced French Onion and Ranch Dip flavors. In mid 2020, they slipped the first dairy-free Tzatziki Dip onto store shelves. One year later, cheesy Queso joined their mix. And this year, Spinach Artichoke rounds out their collection.

Kite Hill Dips Make Dairy-Free Easy with 5 Popular Flavors

These dips are made with Kite Hill’s classic clean almond-based formula and are fermented with live and active cultures, just like their yogurts. They’re naturally flavored with vegetables, herbs, and spices, and the newer Queso variety also contains a little jalapeno heat. Queso

It looks like queso, and tastes a bit spicy, but has no real flavor beyond that.

Kite Hill dips are great with veggies

    Rated 5 out of 5

I tried 4 of the Kite Hill dip flavors. All of them are nice with veggie sticks. They feel healthy to eat probably because they are cultured. What a yummy way to get your probiotics. Spinach Artichoke (5 stars) has a bold flavor without the fat of the dish it is based on. The container says you can heat it but I gobbled it up so fast cold that I didn’t bother. French Onion (5 stars) is also very flavorful , was good with veggies and made me long for chips to recreate a favorite snack from childhood. The tzatziki (4 stars) was good but needs a little more flavor. The Ranch (3 stars) was good but definitely too mild. I see that some of the people who gave these dips a poor rating had only tried the ranch. These dips make such a nice change from hummus and you can serve them to anyone (especially the French onion) with veggies or chips.

I had the ranch dip! It’s delicious. I also bought it after I tried the Chive cream cheese! I can’t eat dairy, and I don’t need to with these!

    Not savory

Loved the kite Hill cream cheese so thought I’d try the dip as well. Highly regret it since they’re so pricy and the taste is not hitting the mark compared to a traditional ranch dip. Do not recommend.
