Springfield Creamery, the makers of Nancy’s Probiotic Foods, is a family owned Eugene, Oregon company that was founded in 1960. They are dedicated to their dairy product lines, but have also catered to dairy-free customers for years. Their Soy Yogurt was discontinued a few years ago, but they replaced it with a full range of non-dairy Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt. And this summer, they’ve decided to completely revamp their oatmilk line. It has a new look and a brand new recipe, with several ingredient changes.
Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt Transitions to All New Formula and Packaging
What are the changes in Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt? The company swapped the faba bean protein for chickpea protein, down-sized ever so slightly from 6 ounces to the standard 5.3 ounce singles (the multi-serves are still the same size), increased the coconut oil for a richer (and higher fat) consistency, and replaced the agar with gellan gum for thickening. But don’t worry, it’s still dairy-free and soy-free, contains live and active cultures, and has 30 to 50% less sugar than the leading plant-based yogurts (and many dairy yogurts).

More Allergen Notes
These yogurts are made without top allergens, and do not have a “may contain” statement for any allergens. The container we purchased actually had dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free listed right on the package. However, they are made on shared equipment with dairy (we’re assuming yogurt). They do not specify certified gluten-free oats on the ingredients online, but it looks like they do on the containers. Double check in store and with the company, if needed.

Metallic flavor?
I got the plain unsweetened kind to use as sour cream and also to add to oatmeal. The container I got has a strange metallic taste. Is it just me? I really like thos yogurt otherwise, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I love the tang and everything else about it. The metal flavor is weird, though.
My favorite non dairy yogurt!
I’ve tried lots of dairy free yogurts and Nancy’s is by far my favorite. The taste is great and the price is reasonable. I also like the nutritional profile. It’s low in fat, doesn’t have as much sugar as a lot of yogurts, and it has a decent amount of protein for a non dairy yogurt.
No sugar. Good with stevia. 🙂
The plain variety has really grown on me. I can easily eat an entire 24 ounce container (only 280 calories total with 0 grams of total sugar). Great for my diet, and actually quite tasty (really).
I’m in love!
I can eat a whole quart in a single sitting! It’s my “not” guilty pleasure. I tried it because I’m lactose intolerant, and found it to be the best ever!
Too sour
I got the plain and it was too sour for my taste. I am still trying to find a replacement for plain greek yogurt. I love the tangy taste of plain greek yogurt but am trying to get away from dairy products, but this oatmilk yogurt is too sour for me.
Yogurt is supposed to be sour!
The low reviews for this yogurt are likely from people unfamiliar with what real low-sugar yogurt tastes like – sour. I personally love this yogurt. It’s delicious, creamy, and thick. I now prefer this to the other dairy-free yogurts that I’ve tried that made from almond or cashew. I’ve only tried the vanilla, but will also be giving the plain a try next time.
One reviewer mentioned getting sick from this yogurt. That person might be reacting to the faba bean protein. There is an actual hereditary disorder, Favism, that creates an allergic response to fava. Something for those with sensitivities to legumes to watch out for.
No sugar . . . amazing with Stevia and added fruit
For me, the plain oatmilk yogurt is perfect . . . remarkably, it has 0 grams of sugar. I add stevia, my own raw fruit (usually some blueberries), and some walnuts. It makes a delicious, healthy treat that works to keep my glucose levels in check. Tastes better than Soy-based yogurts with less sugar. Nicely done!
Is it spoiled?
Tastes terrible-it’s so bad I wonder if it’s spoiled? It’s really disappointing!
Loving this!
I have tried every brand of plant-based yogurt on the market and they usually either fall short on protein content or they taste like chalk. Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt is the first plant-based yogurt that hits the mark for me on taste (tangy, lightly sweetened), texture (creamy), and protein content-six grams of protein from faba beans. I’m lucky in that I don’t have any food sensitivity issues, so I judge this product purely on taste and nutritional content.
Not for everyone - but I loved it
I’m honestly surprised to find some of these reviews, I really thought I found the holy Grail of vegan yogurt. It’s tangy, has body to it, and goes amazingly with some maple syrup, granola and fruit or used a sour cream. Seriously I can barely tell the difference in taste from sour cream when I use it as such – maybe it’s not for everyone, but it’s been perfect for me.
