These cookies are delicious!
I was pleasantly surprised as many ‘healthful’ baked goods just don’t cut it – too gooey or too pasty or just plain not yummy. Flax 4 Life cookies are delicious, genuinely, and this is coming from someone who eats everything – my diet is not limited – so it’s not like they are good “gluten free or dairy free or healthy cookies” They are just plain delicious cookies that happen to be healthy for you. IMO the best are the chocolate chip and chocolate chip cherry. Here’s a big statement – I love them more than Girl Scout Cookies! My new go-to.
Great breakfast cookies
My family and I really like these cookies. i found myself eating them as a breakfast cookie. The ginger snap ones are my favorite; my kids like the chocolate chip. Lemon and chocolate cherry earned high marks, too. I’ll definitely order these again.
Great healthy-style cookies
My husband and I enjoyed these cookies as an afternoon treat with tea, and we both loved them. They are aa bit like “breakfast cookies” in style. They’re rich and hearty, surprisingly tender and chewy, and very comforting. We had them before hiking one afternoon and had tons of lasting energy, which was great. My favorite is the Ginger Snap, but here are my tasting notes for each flavor:
Apple Pie – Really love the chew, the warm apple pie flavor that lingers. Overall, a unique and tasty experience.
Lemon – The lemon is slightly bitter and very zesty, almost battling with the very rich and warm base. For me, this flavor doesn’t work, but I’m picky about lemon items.
Chocolate Cherry – Very brownie like! There are big chocolate chips, bits of dried cherry, and what almost tastes like a light cherry extract infusion. It’s unique, flavorful, and interesting.
Oatmeal Raisin – This flavor seems like a natural for the chewy, hearty, flaxy base. It’s a bit like a soft chewy cookies meets a raisin bran muffin. It tastes a little oaty, too, despite not containing and bran or oats.
Ginger Snap – I thought this would be my favorite, and it is (though the apple pie is a close contender!). The depth of flavor works perfectly in this type of cookie. Rich molasses, plenty of spice – a bit like a healthy thick and chewy molasses cookie.
Chocolate Chip – I love chocolate chip cookies, and I like this one. It has tasty big chocolate chips and a nice texture. But it doesn’t rock my world. There is a strange, slightly bitter after taste that isn’t off-putting, but just doesn’t work for me. And the cookie itself needs a bit more flavor – another pinch of salt, a dash more vanilla?
